While the final decision is ultimately up to the player, if Nike/adidas etc. represent both suitor/club and player, they'll step in to help and make sure a deal happens. Nike wants nike players in nike clubs.

I'm from indonesian. I know for a fact that Thohir asset (wiki) is about 1 billion dollar.

If you count only Thohir alone, then that is his asset. But Indonesian is a family oriented. You can't count only Thohir asset alone, you must count his family asset all together. If by bad luck, Thohir alone can't get it done, his family will come (especially his father - the richest in the family).

Astra company is the biggest automotive company in Indonesian. Its the sole distributor of top brand automotive from car, truck dan motorcycle like toyota, honda, yamaha and other. Beside Astra, Thohir family owns a lot of other company like energy company, oil company, and many other.

So if his family is backing him up, he can stand with abrahamovich (I guess).

Because of Thohir activities with Inter, he is the strongest candidate to take the sport and yongster minister in the coming era. So basicly, if that come true, his asset is going to soar even more.

Thats what i know about the Thohir clan in Indonesia.

From the list, the last man is Trihatma, Agung Podomoro real estate tycoon, who has only US$ 500M assets. Erick's brother who is richer than Erick himself only has US$ 855M. For Erick Thohir to actually have US$ 1B, it would mean, Erick is richer than many other tycoons in Indonesia such as Sudhamek, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, Sjamsul Nursalim, etc. How come Erick Thohir was unknown until he actually bought Inter and he is only known for his sport passion especially in basketball. Unless, Erick is playing behind the scene and his actual net worth is not known by anyone.

As far as I know, Astra is no longer owned by Teddy Thohir. Most shares are owned by foreigners since early 2000s.

Erick's name was thrown up in the air by the media as the candidate for the Sports and Youth Minister last year following the presidential election in Indonesia. He wasn't even considered by the President. It is a fact that Imam Nahrawi is the current Minister. It is not a secret that Ministry of Sports and Youth in Indonesia is not one of the top priority. This ministry is mostly used as a bargain chip by the President to other political parties in exchange for a political support in parliament.

Erick Thohir is rich, richer than people think, but still not rich enough to compete with Sheiks or Abramovich.

Just read we got this deal warped. Last year in France I watched PSG and Lyon quite often while seeing only 3-4 games from Monaco or Marseille so I just dont know much about our two targets to express my thoughts. I am ok with the transfer fee of €35m, but I am a bit worried about the high wages (4-5m net, €8-10m gross). Not only are these wages too high for a young player with little international or CL experience, these wages also make him unaffordable to most clubs in Europe. Which means that if we end up in a situation where we need to sell, we may have to give a discount on the transfer fee. Which is not what you want to say about your 22 year old asset.

That said, Kondogbia in place of Medel is a big upgrade in our starting XI. IMO we don't need Imbula. Just get Motta on a cheap. Between Motta and Brozovic, we will have a good partner for Kondogbia.

I don't know the guy, but he better be a fucking Ronaldo / Messi quality of a player for this kind of money! Not only is it a lot of money for a midfielder of his age (where things can go Balotelli style), but also it's a huge salary where even if it works out he will ask for a raise in 1-2 years.

P.s. How is it that we have money to buy this guy? We are already fucked by FFP for spending too much, and then we go out and spend like $45m? for 1 player? (I'm counting in the first year of salary pre-tax as well)
