Playing FM 2016, I was actually pretty interested in this guy. He's a beast in the game, had no idea we even had him on our books.

Suffice to say, I'm very disappointed he's hardly what he appears to be in the video games.

Ahahaha this fucking guy

Gabriel Barbosa insists “I’d like to come back” to Inter after his loan at Santos but “to play” this time.

The Brazilian striker joined the Beneamata in the summer of 2016 for a fee which eventually reached €33.5m, but he scored just one goal and didn’t make a single Serie A start.

After a failed loan spell at Benfica earlier this season he was loaned back to Santos, but the 21-year-old doesn’t think his career in Europe is over.

“I learned a lot of things in Europe,” Gabigol told FCInterNews.

“The main difference is that now I’m playing regularly. I feel their confidence in me and I need to play better and see what I can do.

“Inter was a period of learning and growth, both on the pitch and as a man. I learned a lot by playing for the Nerazzurri and living in Milan. I watch Inter’s matches on television.

“I have a desire to come back and prove myself. I really liked the affection of the fans, so I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for what they gave me when I was at the club.

“So yes, I’d like to come back. To play. But that will be defined in the future.”

Ahahaha this fucking guy

What exactly is wrong with that statement? Showing purpose and will to suceed is laughworthy?

In a world where Spalletti keeps on giving chance after chance to a player like Santon, who hasn’t done a single noteworthy thing since his debut 10 years ago, and whose contributions this season might literally mean that we don’t qualify for Champions League, I don’t see why playing one of the most highly touted Brazilians of his generation is totally out of the picture.
He did win a match for us, after all.

Who knows? He might be an okay option off the bench with Europa League and Eder possibly leaving. It’s not like we’ll recoup anything for him if we sell him anyway.

Just because we got pushed out of the CL doesn't mean that we should suddenly embrace mediocrity.

Surely none of these past coaches are crazy for not giving him a chance, Spalletti included. And if he didn't want him in January why do you think he would want him now?

I wasn't laughing at his desire to succeed, I was laughing at the likelihood of it happening. Which is quite obvious to anyone who stops for a moment to think before rushing with virtue signalling.

I'd say that one of the most highly touted Brazilians of his generation is QUITE a reach.

That's the spirit and what I wanted to read.

I don't always have delusions, but when I do, it's believing in Gabigol's path of redemption, against every conspiracy

How many goals does he have?

How huge of a wage cut is he willing to take? He was on 3.5 million euro. Is he willing to take him Santos wages to come play here?

He was so disappointing that even when scoring 3 goals he can't get me excited:

I really would like an explanation on:

Why we signed him.
Why he didn't play.

Also I really thought he wasn't bad when he played, he looked like someone who really wanted to do well.

Presumably he was unreliable in training and coaches could not trust him to do a job. Not to be the stereotype guy but there's a reason stereotypes exist about South American players being tactically undisciplined or lazy off the ball etc. For example maybe Pioli wanted him to drift out wide, make space, attack the flank, but he preferred to dribble, cut inside, shoot etc. maybe he didn't contribute enough defensively.

My only issue was that despite fulfilling these tactical instructions very acutely, Palacio was otherwise absolutely atrocious. I'd have preferred to give Gabigol some of Palacio's minutes but whatever. Eder wasn't bad by Eder standards last season either, so no doubt that played a factor too.

So why launder money on someone who isn't going to play. Surely there were better proven players with 35mil price tag.

Who wanted to get him and why? Did we plan some big future for him and he failed? We didn't even let him try to fail.

Is the same going to happen with Lautaro Martinez now?

Money laundering or not, I think we all know the gist. Suning had Kia as their football consultant when they bought Inter. Kia wanted to get Mario and Gabigol to Inter, while Mancini, Ausilio and Mirabelli were dead against the idea - they wanted to spend that kind of money on other players. Mancini had some kind of clause in his contract where he could block transfers. The whole summer window was a standoff, in the end Kia won. Mancini's contract was terminated, and he was replaced by another of Kia's clients (FdB) who green lighted these moves. One of Inter's worst summers, also our most expensive summer - we are still paying for it thanks to FFP.

Can anybody who belives this money laundering bs please explain to me how you guys think money laundering works? Cause i m pretty sure you have no clue if you think this was a money laundering move! Also to je money laundering under the eyes of a wide public usually is not the preffered way to do it!

Anyways imho suning wanted to make a statement they tried for gabriel jesus did not get him and went for what they thought was the next best option!
On why he did not play i think he is was a lazy cunt in training, i mean he obviously has some talent but the fact that he did not even get minutes in portugal should whow you that something he does of the field does not go to well with the coaches!

Every year we have a signing that never sees the light of day which makes no sense to me Montoya, Erkin, Barbosa, Dalbert It would be hilarious if one scout was responsible for all of these signings, or someone who was playing FM every year.

Above all i've never seen a clip of him where he shows that he can actually be relevant as a winger where we tried to play him. He doesn't run enough for that position , doesn't have any good dribbling skills (although he tries a lot) nor a gool long shot. I've always seen him as a 1st striker/poacher scoring tap in goals .

Maybe if we plan to user 2 strikers next year , he Martinez and Icardi can rotate on those roles. As i doubt someone will want to pay us big amounts after 6 months in brasil
