He did give that new ball quite a wallop. The on pitch mic sounded like a bag cement being thrown from a 20 floor building onto the curb...its good it was on the frame.

It isn't wordclass, I agree.. But bad isn't it at all. Well you can't expect controlment of our midfield, our midfield is simply too defensive, but the work they do, the passes they deliver to the front, the coverages of Gargano and Cambiasso, The rushes of Nagatomo. Defensive work by Zanetti. It's not that offensive as Jube's or even BBilan's but surely not bad.
I do agree we need a new impact midfielder.

Hamsik scores loads, but is often missing in big games for some reason. He doesn't assert his authority like he should. I used to be the biggest fan, but now think he might not be the answer after all.

No ones judging Lucas. He COULD be great player, but atm is no more than average. I know, you pay for potential too, but no player at his age that has shown pretty much nothing is worth more than 20. Hamsik on the other hand is proven player, Serie A experienced.. He is lost in big games? I wouldn't agree, not completely anyway. The guy is brilliant, creative, great passer, great finisher... Perfect Wes replacement. If selling Wes would somehow mean getting Hamsik, i'd do it in a heartbeat.

Too bad we are not linked to him atm.
