Forum SupporterWe've tried things like that in the past, but that identity is very unique to Inter and we decided to go with something which is unique to us but in line with inter's current identity.
any chance of having the banner stretch across the entire top of the forum?I know i'm being picky, but it's bugging me
We have to cater for the average resolution of users... if I make it any longer it will stretch out of the screen for smaller monitors. I could create a dynamic version but that needs some time and coding and for now I'd rather focus on fixing a few issues first.
You could re size your browser and make it smaller

10 years of FIFhaha no i'll just have to put up with the gap.... Can't be ruining my lovely widescreen view just to make the forum fit it. Tbh, i'd have thought most people would have higher than a 1024x768 resolution by now

Forum Supporter10 years of FIFI think in general the site needs a face lift. Being a professional graphic designer, I'm willing to help. You may visit my website in order to get an idea of the kind of work I've been doing:
From the designing perspective & of all the current layouts, I think "SirRage" looks the best. Very tidy with a nice banner & the colors well balanced. As a matter of fact I can't notice any errors. I may disagree on one or two color choices but that's no error rather than a matter of personal taste. On the other hand, there are several errors on all the other layouts. Here is an example:
- Forza Inter (beta):
The blue used as the 2nd degree background is not chosen well because of its high contrast/saturation/intensity. Blue is not suitable to be used as your 2nd degree background on a primarily text-based website. I would go instead with white or a light grey tone, since you want to be able to read easily without your eyes getting tired due to the high contrast. Pretty much the same reason books & newspapers get printed on white paper (apart from keeping the costs low).
The golden rule which has only been correctly applied on "SirRage" is: Dark, Light, Dark:
- The grayish blue as the background providing a sense of depth (Dark)
- The white layer being used as a background 2nd degree, lighter than the previous layer (Light)
- The text, avatars, headers, etc. which are all dark & have therefore the right contrast compared to the previous layer. (Dark)
The only area in which you can have the Nerazzurri colors would either be on the first or the third layer (the both Darks). The second should be kept brighter than the other two, otherwise you won't get a balanced image.
One thing I like about the beta version is the treble badges which are well masked & placed. The thing I definitely miss in all layouts is the Inter logo. I can't really explain why it's not on any of'em. It's all about Inter here, so how come the logo is no where to be seen?

With regards to the blue background and white text, that has been the trademark look for our forum since its inception. It is definitely something that we'd like to keep.
But you're right with the Inter logos. It just needs some time, it is definitely one of the more obvious things that we'll do.

Forum Supporter10 years of FIFI too want a lighter background. I understand that we have always kept a dark background and had our theme colours in blue and black. But this is just causing a massive strain on the eyes. Sometimes we need to make deviate from history just like we will move from San Siro in a few years.

Forum Supporter10 years of FIFRegarding the background darker/text lighter combination, I think it's just a matter of time getting used to. I also felt a bit awkward reading properly on the forum at first, but now it seems easier to read than before.

yeah just about to ask the same thing...these other ones are kind of harsh on the eyes. also im having to scroll through other users comments rather then being able to read them straight up
