All other than win will be disappointing. And i already see if we lose our Milan friends joking and making fun of us that we are already on 5 or 6 points. :(

If we lose i will be disapointed.

Viola suffer Pazzini blow
Tuesday 5 September, 2006
Fiorentina have suffered a massive blow on the eve of the season after Giampaolo Pazzini was ruled out of action for at least two months.

The Viola forward limped off the pitch 28 minutes into Friday’s Under-21 international against Iceland with a muscle strain in his right leg.

The club’s medical staff confirmed on Monday that Pazzini suffered a second degree lesion in his thigh and damage to a tendon.

The striker will see a specialist on Tuesday in order to have a clearer idea of the diagnosis, but it seems that he will be forced on to the sidelines for a minimum of eight weeks.

Pazzini is considered as one of the most promising talents in Serie A and had already been called-up by Pierluigi Casiraghi’s U-21 predecessor Claudio Gentile.

Having joined Fiorentina in 2005, the former Atalanta man alternated with Valeri Bojinov next to Luca Toni last season, scoring a total of five goals in Serie A and one against Juventus in the Coppa Italia.

I think that this will a good game not as good as it could be (start of the season), however I feel that Fiorentina is one of the best teams in Italy right now so it will be good to test ourselves against them.

Last year in the away game and when we were fighting for the Scudetto we lost (2-1) , so let's not carried away because we had a good market for once, keep the head straight and honour Facchetti.

I believe that we have better players but will that be enough? I hope so!! I'm guessing for a 1-2 win for us, it would be a good way to start Serie A.

Javier Zanetti,
My prediction : 1-2
But if Inter is in berserk mode (tribute for Facchetti), it's gonna be 0-2.
If in 75 minutes, it still goalless, then I think Inter should get Crespo on the field replacing Adriano.

I won't be able to see this, because of birthday parties. I hope it's worth of downloading it afterwards. I'm so excited, season is finally here! I will now be more on forum these days, ofcourse.

BTW, Han and bros, is the #forza-inter irc-channel still alive?

Forza Inter!

For Inter to make the best start, they have to control the game from the start. Keeping the ball inside the first few minutes is essential and we can build on that onwards.

I expect Fioretina to take the game to us from the very beginning with fast and furious attacks just to unsettle us. If we can soak up all this pressure we will be fine.

A difficult match to start the season with, my expectation is a scoring draw like 1-1 or 2-2 or a narrow win for us like 1-2.

This a very important game! starting with a win is essential! I am not expecting anything less than total domination of midfield!

I'm uncertain what to think about the outcome of this game anymore. Either we play shitty like we did in Florence last year, we play out a draw or we crush Viola to honour Facchetti.

I really think the player's reactions to Presidente's death is a fundamental factor for the final score in this opener. We can act carelessly or like a wounded lion.

Outside this I, incredibly, have a feeling of 1-1. We'll go a goal back early before we equalise either right before half time or some 20-25 minutes before the final wistle.

This said, I hope Inter react like wounded lions to Presidente's death.

Do it for Giacinto. Please Inter. Do it for Gia.

27-09-92. Inter v Fiorentina. Request for Team line-ups and brief match report.

I would be grateful if anyone could supply me with (or point me in right direction of anyone who could tell me about) team line-ups and brief match report for the following match I attended, whilst on holiday in Milan:

Serie A match
92/93 season
Date: 27-09-92
Inter v Fiorentina
Score 2-2
51' Batistuta, 80' Shalimov, 84' Batistuta, 87' Battistini

I can remember the Inter fans unveiled a banner commenting on the Inter Goalkeeper Zenga's recent wedding and my milanese hosts saying their was contraversy over the design off the Fiorentina away kit. Apparently the design on the shoulders resembled swastikas?!. I have fond memories of that match but wish I could remember a bit more about Inter from that season.

Thanks in advance,

Cartonboy
