Galatasaray want Inter midfielder Gary Medel and could offer Felipe Melo as part of an exchange.

The Turkish club is active on the transfer market, as today Lukas Podolski undergoes his medical for a move from Arsenal.

According to reports from Istanbul, Gala have also set their sights firmly on Inter midfielder Medel.

Currently on international duty with Chile for the Copa America Final against Argentina, Medel is one of those potentially sacrificed to make way for new signings.

The Nerazzurri paid €8m plus bonuses to take him from Cardiff City a year ago, but Galatasaray could cut that price-tag down by including Felipe Melo.

Roberto Mancini – a former Galatasaray Coach – made it clear Melo is a target.

Galatasaray have warned Inter target Felipe Melo to turn up for training on Friday or ‘it will be a matter for the directors’.

The Brazilian midfielder has one year left on his contract in Turkey, but has reportedly told the club he wants out, with the Nerazzurri his preferred destination.

“Melo has told us he won’t come to the training camp,” Fanatik quotes Coach Hamza Hamzaoglu as saying.

“However, he has a contract, and he’s required to answer the call-up and turn up on the pitch on July 10 or it will be a matter for the directors.”
