Only Pedulla is talking about a contract termination. All the others are talking about a 6-month loan. We need to wait and see.
Both are options. There's another option where we send them a player their way, but the problem is that the ones debated are loaned elsewhere.

Thing is, Caicedo does not want to take a pay cut and we only want him here for 6 months. So unless he's okay with a risky team option for the 2nd year, it will be hard to close the deal soon.

As I mentioned yesterday, it's a very complicated deal that could take a while if there's the slightest obstacle. Whereas getting a Petagna-Vecino swap is quite easier, but we'd have to get a new midfielder as well which complicates it.

€1m 6 months loan to cover Correa for 35 days. I don't see the problem, he's ready to go straight onto the subs bench. We may not even see him apart from 10 minute cameo's at end, might sneak a goal in. Can't do any less than Correa has, let's be honest. Dry loan.. I mean there isn't much to grumble at here.

Alternative we sign a semi decent striker then don't sign a main striker in summer due to finances of that deal? We need to think logically here.

Caicedo will play well for Inzaghi for the very few minutes he will actually get.

How are Genoa paying someone 2mil a season?
Good question. Marotta is playing 4D chess: after taking Inzaghi and Correa from Lazio, how much do you think Lotito would have asked for Caicedo as transfer fee?

Caicedo was sold to Genoa for only 2M while his value was 4M. We are now getting him for FREE. Can you see it now?

Thing is, Caicedo does not want to take a pay cut and we only want him here for 6 months. So unless he's okay with a risky team option for the 2nd year, it will be hard to close the deal soon.

Caicedo will have to take a slight pay cut in order to earn the same wages that Sensi is currently earning, but the Nerazzurri are hoping to get the deal done soon.
Sky also report that should Inter be unable to loan in Caicedo, their backup plan is to reintegrate Eddie Salcedo into the squad upon his return from loan with Spezia. :yao2:

Caicedo is notorious for scoring stoppage time goals AND Inzaghi knows him well. Good option coming off the bench!

Salcedo is going to return in order to be given to Genoa, at least initially if they demand a player in return. In case the deal fails, that's when Salcedo ends up being our 5th forward.

I don't get it why Genoa needs a new forward for Caicedo when they already signed Piccoli on loan from Atalanta.

Maybe that's a sign that one of these options are obsolete. I guess that means that Salcedo doesn't break his loan spell and of course that means that he doesn't get to return either since we don't really want him. Really have no clue if Genoa were seeking a Piccoli deal before we asked about Caicedo.

Alternatives considered:
- Petagna, which will force us to get a loan deal for a cheap midfielder (Vecino swap) unless we're already doing that to replace Sensi.
- Destro. I think this one is off, Genoa is very unlikely to give him on loan if they cannot give us Caicedo who earns more iirc and has a more limited role. He'll cost us money that has been given to Gosens, and the idea was that we were just going to loan a WBL. I'd rule out this name but expect to see it if Caicedo deal delays a bit.
- Kalinic. His agent heard about us needing a backup striker and called us. Doubt we care that much but if we're desperate...
- Keita Balde. The guy wants to return and probably similar case to the above, used his agent to see if it's an option. Doubt we can pull a deal.

Probably another name is there, but Caicedo seems the best one for a 6 month deal. This is not a big deal for us, it's a player we'll hardly use. If we want something more permanent, we'd check for something better, but I don't think we have the money.

Yeah exactly, our need is only cheap/free 6 month loan. More expensive things are for the summer because they are impossible to implement in this window.

I would prefer Keita over Caicedo tbh as long as it's just a 6-month deal.

But would Cagliari discuss such a deal? They'll want a full transfer and he'd want a long term deal.

I rather keep Salcedo unless Genoa will actually play him.

Look Caicedo will get more minutes than Correa, because he is not made from glass. :yao:

I doubt anyone cares but Caicedo will also take his Inter medical tomorrow according to Sky.

Edit: Weird. Both Romano and another Sky reporter deleted their tweets about Caicedo.

Wouldnt knock Caicedo he was pretty solid for Lazio last year and came up clutch when needed.
