Grosso hasn't been impressive since he arrived in Inter, his mistakes haven't yet caused us much problems, but obviously he hasn't yet meet our expectations. I guess it's Maxwell's chance to show that he's capable of taking the first 11 spot away from Grosso. Hopefully Mancini wouldn't use Burdisso as a LB or move J.Z to LB in the following games.

Hes been a bit overrated and Mancini has to play him because leaving a world cup winner on the bench must be killing him i support this guy i don't hate him just hes been playing ****ing shit hes defending is poor and thats the side teams get through us , please be back to your old self I'm glad hes injured. i really wanna see more of maxwell hes quick with good feet , still no good to ad to the injury list

Exactly, my same thoughts... Maxwell is not playing good, and even now, he is playing better than Grosso...

Well if he's in good form, wich he isn't at the moment, he is a great player. For the moment we have Maxwell, and I think Mancini will play him on LB because Maxwell hasn't had much play time till now and Mancini is surrely fond of Maxwell.

After that, let Maxwell and Grosso prove in training that they are worthy to be a starter and then take the best every week, then the other will train harder to become a starter too, this way you wel get 2 hard working LB's, but I think this is old news for you guys.

That's obviously a solution as well, but I still feel Maxwell deserves a chance to prove himself. Like Thomas is saying, I too think Maxwell has the potential to do even better than Grosso. Also, I have a feeling that somehow Maxwell is a better team player. Don't know if this is true or just my imagination.

Tbh I think almost opposite to kova. I think Grosso is a lot more better in defence, he doesn't do stupid things there, unlike Maxwell who often tries some idiotic passes or stuff like that. Though Maxwell has been more effective and dangerous getting foward tbh. I wanted more from Grosso on the attacking part, but he sometimes shows climpses of that so maybe he can soon find his real touch. He has got a magic curl though, I'd say maybe best in Inter.

I agree, his offensive qualities are far superior to his defensive ones. He used to be midfielder I think...Not sure..

There is no questioning his ability to loop that ball into the box. The one thing that annoys me though is his defensive abilities. You notice it most when he is one on one with a player. He sort of gets hunched down keeps his feet together and continually backs up giving the player space even when they arent really pressing him that much.

For an Italian international defender that is disgraceful. Maxwell IMO is more effective overall and I would fell more comfortable with him playing against Valencia and Roma the way those two spread the ball around would defintely catch someone like Grosso out. On the other hand with the ever resourceful Captiano's ability to easily step into either fullback position and out place wingback will not be that big a problem as long as the two are not continually bombing forward.

I just don't like the way Grosso always puts in low crosses instead of high balls. He surely makes more of an impact offensively down the flank, while Maxwell is more solid overall and has better technique if you ask me (some of his crosses are just great).

Hopefully these two can put pressure on each other and perform at their best trying to win the starting place in the team.
