President Laporta understood and respected Messi's decision to want to compete in a league with fewer demands, further away from the spotlight and the pressure he has been subject to in recent years.
bitter ex girlfriend? Worth to mention that Laporta had recent trip to Saudi

Messi getting money from both sides, ambassador for Saudi

It’s not coincidence that Apple will have a Messi series coming up, feel like it’s done for long time.

It’s a state (Saudi) vs a corporation (MLS)

and then some Liverpool or whatever wants to pay 40-50M for Barella, while these nobodies are going for the same money. LOL

If there is anybody I trust to not make stupid moves, it's Brighton. He played for them for a season, I think they should probably know if he's worth 40 or not. 40mil in EPL is like 25mil in Serie A.

Inter Miami has to be the most North American name ever. Absolute cringe. I know their full name is in Spanish and it makes sense being Miami but every time I hear “Inter Miami”, I just roll my eyes.

Anyway, good for the MLS I guess. Now they can raise ticket prices even more obscenely for mediocre football just for a chance to see 36 year old Messi. The capitalist overlords will be proud.

So some details I heard for the Messi deal.

He will receive a % from Adidas sales relating to the entire MLS.
He will receive a cut from Apple's Season Pass revenue.
Some "minor" players will also jump in and give him rights and royalties.

Also read he has the chance to invest to MSL directly. By buying a franchise basically (?) like Beckham did.

I thought that Messi will end up in Barcelona and receive a proper goodbye on Camp Nou. It would have been a dream scenario. He showed on World cup that he can still deliver quality performance on the top level and thus he could still give Barcelona a proper boost in attack. I'm quite surprised that he decided to go to the USA.

Oh, Juve winning for almost a decade made Serie A so much better than Bundesliga, huh?

Yeah, it's easier for Bayern to get quality players. Doesn't mean Bundesliga isn't enjoyable to watch. Especially for potential transfers. Some of the players we brought from Bundesliga also won CL later on (Lucio, Perišić, Shaqiri, Kuzmanović (one is a joke))
