I said it at the beginning that Israel has a very real chance of qualifying from this group (likely at the expense of either Croatia or Russia) and they've been doing very well so far. The England draw is great for both Israel and Croatia, though they're still in all likelihood safe. Here's hoping Israel and Croatia both make it out of the group anyway. ;)

I'm pretty much sure it'll be England + one of Russia, Croatia or Israel to qualify in the end, of course I wouldn't mind Croatia + other though..
We play England in Wednesday and if we win, who knows what might happen in the future..England out of EC, perhaps..;)

agreed. van Basten is doing something that no other Dutch coach has had the balls to do, although your De Jong's might not be as good as your Seedorf's and your Babel's might not be good as your Makaay's, they still play with heart and passion and don't cause problems in the team, the team has enough skill to win anything and has had so in the past, but the attitude of the players is what cost them, the mentality of always playing beautiful futebol and only that has cost them, van Basten with his time with Milan learnt all this and he's getting rid of all the problems.

watch Holland win Euro 2008.

haha don't think so bro..van basten yess he has the balls but nobody agrees what he is doing in holland..
he also did admit he was wrong with van nistelrooy and van bommel..and now he wants them allready back but they feell like they are refused for many times..

i also don't like van bommel ..but he always is better than a ****ing landzaat..
but we really miss van nistelrooy for the finishing touch!
well anyway..if holland wants to win the euro 2008 there is a long way to go:)

Are you joking? Of course there is a country called Macedonia, just ask Pajo. You can find all the different "Macedonias" here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macedonia

Cruyff does and that's the only thing that matters.

and the reason Van Basten tried to talk with Van Nistelrooy and Van Bommel is because he is a good and fair guy who tries to talk things out.
But otherwise, catanha has said it all and for whatever it's worth, Oranje under Van Basten have only lost 2 games and with the right progress of Huntelaar, no one will need Van Nistelrooy, who is fantastic in the box but not a playing striker really.

I definitely agree with Tanya and Mehdi here, I like the way this current Dutch squad is progressing.

Having followed the NT for a long time, they maybe as disappointing as Inter. Always stacked with talent, but no team spirit or unity and disasterous ending.

Yes, RVN has a killer final touch, but he isn't a team player as Mehdi said. And I wish Van Basten benches Robben a time or two so he will be less selfish.

If Van Basten can mould a team spririt, then I think this squad can go far. The young talent is there, but the unity and spirit is always missing.

I agree, I think that in a short time Huntelaar will be one of the best strikers in the World, I was very impressed with him, when he played in Portugal this last summer (Euro 2006 u-21). I rate Van Basten highly, I mean he isn't the best coach out there but he is doing a great job in putting some young players in the team, Holland always had great young players why not use them?

I think that Holland can be one of the most powerful teams in the next Euro.

But also Netherlands need the connection of Bommel to the strikers, plus the strikers need Van Nisterlrooy, just for the reason that he is the best striker in Holland now, the NT needs the final scoring touch, which Kuyt is not good in it till now

Holland is very strong team. It has always been, but they never manage to do something in bug Matches. Same for Spain. Individually, they have maybe the best team in the world, but as a team...

someone like Landzaat wouldn't want a starting role, he is fine with his current role and when called upon, he does his dirty duties in the middle of the park, whereas a van Bommel would demand a starting XI spot and cause much tension in the camp. That has always been the problem in the Dutch National team for the last 15 years. If someone (ie. Seedorf, Ruud) think they're bigger than the team, they should be kicked out. Hopefully van Basten doesn't let the media and public pressure get to him, he's doing the right thing.

well, they certainly need a midfield who provides connection with the strikers, but that midfield is definetly not Van Bommel. ;)

Btw. I didn't think that Landzaat was any worse than Van Bommel. Both are nothing special, but at least Landzaat knows his true value, while Van Bommel believes at times he is Deco.

Well, as much as I like his idea, M. van Basten doesn't seem to be coherent with his original plan..I mean, he disregarded some respected players like Seedorf, Stam, Makaay etc to bring the youth, but in the other hand he left, for example, RVN in the NT instead of Huntelaar..Adding to this that Ruud was out of form as well, I really failed to see the logic in that move..

Anyway, Holland posess enough talent in any aspect, play very attractive football and as I also like MVB(it's obvious why..), I would like them to go far in the EC 2008..

Tomorrow we play vs. Andorra... It should be easy game for us, but I won't underastimate any team in the world. Well Croatia beat tham 7-0, we can 4-0. ANd we are hungry for revenge, their only win is against us. And tomorrow is our national hollyday "11 October" when the first bunt against the Germans were made in WWII. So, FORZA MACEDONIA!!!

Scolari has been very careful with these qualifying games, after the easy win (3-0) against Azerbaijan, we travel to Poland where we are set to get at least a draw. Scolari is trying to pass the idea that we need 28 points to qualify (7 home wins, 7 away draws) although we are hoping for more.

About the game itself I think that Portugal has a good chance to win but, only if we keep our guard up. No team is easy anymore and everybody is looking for the most points, so I wish for Portugal to play to win but without taking too many risks.

Hey Yuko..I'm glad to see you come back to FI forum, well for different reasons though..It's pretty much clear you people will never come to an agreement on Macedonia issue so I suggest you just forget about it and talk about football and other things that include no politics whatsoever..Intellect should prevail over stubbornness, shouldn't it? ;)

That sounded like an accusation to us.

We are not robots and we did this voluntarily. It would be much more beneficial to all parties if you would just PM any of the admins regarding any offensive posts you spotted and we would deal with it right away.

Yeah, but Yuko didn't have nothing to tell you... Coz there was no accusation. If he regards mentioning my counrtys name as an accusation, OK, I won't stop doing that for sure.

PS: Sorry, this is not on PM coz I have nothing to report, just say the facts...
