It's either watch Fulham vs Chelsea or a Hammer horror movie with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee..an easy choice really.

Haha what a fucking joke and peak incompetence at its finest.

EPL is really a biggest joke in terms of what it's marketed and what it really is. Super League? GTFO, these guys can't even beat lenses, milans and galatasarays of the world (latter one at home).

I have always been a strong believer of English VAR being deliberately designed in a way that impairs ref's decision and stirs shit up to cause reactions. Just look at how frequent they fuck up over there.

This convo does nothing but fortify my belief. From the use of indirect language, 'check over' instead of stating it clearly as foul/no foul and offside/onside, to excluding the main ref from the conversation between VAR refs, to the unnecessarily rigid procedures (which ensure a fuck up stays a fuck up, and the refs can deny responsibilities cuz the procedures e.g. 'play has restarted' 'I can't do anthing'...). All of this has to be deliberate, there's no other possible explanations.

The audio is very appalling. I wish I could be this incompetent and still sit in a prestigous job. Really, it is very easy to say "nnside, it is a goal" or "offside, no goal" instead of "check done okay mate".

IMO officiating is the weakest aspect in English football. Italian referees also screw things up, but they do it because they are corrupted while English referees are incompetent.

VAR: “Check complete, check complete. That’s fine, perfect”

That’s where miscommunication coming from. First sentence is for referee, second one is for replay operator indicating that he draws good line but referee takes it as his decision on field is fine.

It’s not about technology, in the end it’s still human errors.

Yes. VAR didn't understand main ref had called for offside.

It's incompetence at its finest, VAR should obviously follow closely what's happening on the pitch, what is main ref calling. That kind of short communication protocol then leads to these kind of mistakes if refs aren't at the same page.

Linesmen are completely useless ever since VAR was introduced - they constantly and on purpose delay calling offsides just so they don't fuck up an attacking leading to a goal. They know the offside decisions are down to the millimetre nowadays so why bother having them at all? Their only purpose right now is to call obvious offsides and to serve as a marker for players. I'd just fill the whole thing with technology and automate 90% of the decisions, just as it was done with goal-line tech. There are simple rules to be followed and there's technology to do just that. Same can be applied to offsides - just constantly monitor positions in real time and retranslate the decisions to the linesman for him to signal.

The guy who said "Check complete, perfect" without saying what the check showed mislead the main ref imo, but the main ref should have made sure what the VAR ref was sayng.

My template for these situations would be:"What do you mean by Check complete, you dumb fuck."

Unbelievable how incompetent Kovacic is. First he gets away with a yellow card after a dirty tackle, and then another reckless challenge which hits Rice's ankle and yet again, he gets away with it.

Both challenges within five minutes

See, City is 3rd now. No end of the world. We are still in much better position compared to last year.

Really thought he will play his best football under Guardiola.. so far not looking that way.

Me too, I was certain this is what he needed. He still has a lot of time ahead of him though and Guardiola knows how to coach midfielders.

Just read a report in today's Guardian that Sheikh Jassim " has pulled out of the race to buy ManU ". The report states that the evaluation of the asking price was unrealistic. Jassim bid was reportingly 5bn and an pledged another 1.7bn for transfers, a new stadium etc. The Glazer's are also saddled with close to 1 bn dollars in debt. Gee, Inter's is a bargain ......
