Looks like new tax reform will do enormous damage to Premier League. In case bill will pass, football players will be obliged to pay half of their incomes. Surely they will demand more money from clubs.

How much are they increasing the tax on highest wage bracket by?
Right now its 40% in England, 30% in Spain, and 47% in Italy.

English clubs will suffer a bit more, if lets say the highest income earners, get a bump on their income taxes by around 10%.

They are all sitting on a pile of cash. May be there just aren't many players left in the market to buy. I hope all Italian club owners fasten on to their players.

I will go out and declare this the worst EPL year in years...The winner will probably be one of Chelsea or Liverpool. But a boring year.

They are all sitting on a pile of cash.

you mean a pile (or rather a whole damn skyscraper) of debts. mu, for example, had a total debt of around 764 million pounds before selling cr; at chelsea, it's around 750 million.

Those debts don't mean much. Its not like they have to pay those off in one year. Stefan is our FI expert on these matters :p

All I am saying is that those clubs can spend money in case they want to.
Chelsea isn't doing it because Roman has probably got sick of spending too much but they might make 1-2 purchases this summer. The other clubs aren't finding the right players to splash cash on or some like Lpool would only be able to spend if some players like Xabi leave .

when you have about 764 million pounds to pay, it's not like you can make your moves on your own. especially if you can't even pay the interests, let alone the capital. This is the case with mu. Now that they sold cr and got rid of tevez, it's some better for them.

lpool can't spend cause they ain't got money to spend. they even had to ask for moratoria from RBS to redeem the approx. 350 million pounds debt.

keeping alonso should be the key for pool. For a squad like them,Benitez should do all that what is required to keep him. But then only insider or some crazy Scouse at the forums would know more about it.

Mmmmm?"crazy scouse"(scouse"r" actually,lol)anyway...........like i said about ibra,if alonso wants to go then f##k him! easy as that!the club goes on,we've lost bigger players than xabi before,he doesnt get on with rafa so probably best he goes anyway,i will then pray that gerrard gets moved back where he belongs ,in centre mid!but he wont!cambiasso!,javi martinez, poulson, and aquilini (spelling!) have all been mentioned as replacements,LFC will survive with or without alonso.

Gerrard is godlike in the offensive/second striker role. Sure, he can take care of the build up, but he's alot more effective in a free offensive role.

Xabi > Gerrard(and pretty much everyone since Pirlo's decline in the defensive playmaker role)

Gerrard > everyone in the free offensive role. Iniesta is the non scoring equal.

Maybe he is SLIGHTLY more effective in a free role,BUT he still scored and set up plenty of goals from centre mid,PLUS it gives us a problem in recruiting a world class striker as a partner/cover for torres because who is going to come to us KNOWING they will only play if gerrard or torres is injured? thats why i want to go back to a 4 4 2 with 2 class strikers up front and gerrard back in midfield, the 4 2 3 1 we play now means we wont be able to recruit a class striker.

MU, Chelsea and Liverpool have equal chances of winning PL. Arsenal is way behind them.
