I don't believe that Davids will go to Spurs. I just can't believe how Spurs is being linked up with all these big names. Diego, Van Bommel, Roberto Mancini, Giovanni Trapattoni and now Davids. They are a small club in London, who hasn't even challenged for the EPL title for the last decade or so. They haven't won anything as well. What is it with the media and Spurs!?!?!? :dielaugh::howler:

Actually, Spurs is one of the most supported club in London. True they haven't won for a long time but they have die-hard supporters. I think it's more geographic alignment than supporting a club for their trophies. They attract many fans and that's how they were able to sign some big names. They have Robbie Keane, Freddie Kanoute and Jermaine Dafoe- three excellent strikers - as their front men and even Postiga is a sub for them.
Trust me, they are a good coach away from being a great club. Santini was a bad choice, they should've gone for Cuper.

I agree, and even if they didnt get Cuper. Santini is still one of the most over-rated coaches in the world...
I doubt he will prove himself in the premiership and he may be included to the list of bad coaches Spurs always hire..

now we got veron i don't see why we need emerson for , in roma he used to play alongside a pure ballwinner such as tommasi/ dacourt , so this veron-emerson won't work imo.

however if we have signed emerson instead of veron we would have the best partnership in the world in emerson-emre although none of them is a real ballwinner but thay both have defensive qaulity they would suit eachother perfectlly.

Emerson himself is a defensive midfielder !!

It's just that Roma hasn't got Emre or Stankovic or Veron, so Dacourt / Tommasi partners him.

He's a defensive midfielder, who's better than C.Zanetti, Perotta and co.
And that is why Inter, Real are after him, as both these two clubs don't have a world class DM. And in Real's case, they even haven't got a proper DM.

as u can see he never put de rossi and emerson alone cuz he needed a ballwinner there.

emerson is great he creative midfielder and he has defensive quality but not enough to make him the main ballwinner.

If we truly have a chance to get Emerson then we should go after it, but I think the player has made it pretty obvious to everyone that there is only 1 team he wants to join. Juventus. So it doesn't matter how much Facchetti and co. put on the table, the player will probably not accept.

Anywayz we don't really need him anywayz. There is C.Zanetti, Davids, and Cambiasso who has really been on fire during pre-season training so much so that he could overtake CZ for that starting DM player spot.

Thank god we picked up Davids instead of Emerson, to say the least i have never been his biggest fan since forever. I think he makes alot of ridiculous fouls when he could have simply made a clean tackle for the ball and don't find what so extra special about him. I know for a fact that i am not the only one who thinks like this about him too, so it isn't just me that doesn't think he's such a perfect DM.

A rather average player in my eyes. Not as effective nor as good as Davids on his best day, i find people praising his skills when i think he has nothing to praise. He can actually pass the ball and so on, but what's there to brag? nada. I didn't bother reading the whole thread, but am i the only one that doesn't rate Emerson all that high?

yeah, that's true .....

Emerson is unpopular with the Brazilians coz he doesn't have skills like that of Ronaldinho or others who would make their midfield very creative ..... I mean enjoyable to watch. He was not liked by Brazilian media as well and some even was against given the arm band to him.

And I would like to say again what I feel if Emerson is rumoured to Inter:

NO !!!!

We don't need him. Davids arrival means that C.Zanetti, Davids and Cambiasso will compete for that place.

Actually, i watch as much Brazilian futebol as the Brazilians do. I have Globo and they show up to 4 games Campeonato Brasileirao per week. I form my own opinion on that countries players, and i would like to think that i probably watch Emerson more then them because some of them don't watch the Serie A that closely while i get to watch Roma dozens of times.

I honestly don't rate Emerson and remember the first time that i watched him play for the Selecao thinking that he was horrible. Perhaps i hold a personal grudge on him, but when i started watching him which at the time Brazil was going through a horrible phase his bad tackling was a pain.
