It's Vieri's goals vs Parma in a mirror:

You guys are jinxing this guy so fucking hard

I know, I feel the same. I really rate Dzeko and wanted him at Inter 2 years ago, when most of FIF was against spending 20m on an old player like him. I thought then, as I do now, that Dzeko can be a great super-sub for us and would add a lot of quality depth to our attack - if we had got him then, perhaps we would have won another scudetto.

That said, people who think that Dzeko can adequately replace Lukaku over a whole season are getting a bit carried away. Or maybe they are forgetting how hard Lukaku worked for us for 2 years, pretty much every single game without rest. Dzeko could have done that 10 years ago, but at 35 we cannot expect him to deliver what Lukaku did or even play nearly as much as Lukaku did.

If Dzeko ends up playing half the minutes Lukaku did in a season and scoring at a similar rate per game, we should be satisfied. Anything more would be a bonus.

That's why I was hoping they could have landed a deal for Belotti. Not that I think he could replace Lukaku one on one but with him and Dzeko we could have two strikers who can act as a spearpoint with Lautaro, Correa and Sanchez roaming around them. Correa can play as a number 9 but I feel like that isn't his best position.

Maybe Satriano can suprise us all, keep hearing good things about him in the media ( for what its worth).

Not even concerned about the goal at all it was just unlucky from him.

However his attacking movement is poor, Toro is doing all the running this guy is doing nothing. 20th min or so Perisic did well out left and Dzeko just stood there, this has been the theme through out the first half. At least Sanchez moves and puts effort in, I made it vocal I wasn't happy with this signing but always get behind players but its hard for me with this one.

I just don't see what he has to offer to us, I hope he proves me wrong throughout the season but 1 goal or 1 assist here and there won't cut it if the effort isn't there either.

He needs to improve his positioning. And also I cant believe he cant really hold the ball as he used to.

Really didn't get a lot of service today, but then again Inter's overall passing was crap (77%). Didn't really do a good job on hold up play either, kinda of a reflection on the whole team. Poor.

I think his hold up play is pretty good. There's higher chances he traps the ball than for example Lukaku. That will give us different options to play in return for losing the ability to play the ball to Lukaku in the run.

To me Dzeko was invisible expect when he scored own goal. I would have subbed him instead of Lautaro.

I thought his positioning was fine, it's his link up play that's not there yet. Not just him, but the whole team.

I hope Inzaghi won't treat Dzeko like the way Conte treated Lukaku. He should have been subbed yesterday instead of Lautaro. He was no use in such a match. Lautaro-Correa could cause more threats as we reached the end of the match.
