Not really. Milito is scoring constantly for 5(6)th season. While Toni scored 2-3 seasons in row, when Bayern got him.

What are you talking about, Toni has done exactly the same.

04-05 Palermo 30 Goals, 35 Games
05-06 Fiorentina 31 Goals, 38 Games
06-07 Fiorentina 16 Goals, 29 Games

Those are the serie a stats for Toni, prior to him moving to bayern.

At Bayern.

07-08 Bayern Munich 24 Goals, 31 Games 10 Goals, 11 Game(UC)
08-09 Bayern Munich 12 Goals, 21 Games 3 Goals, 8 Games (CL)

Milito:

04-05 Genoa 21 Goals, 39 Games
05-06 Real Saragosse 14 Goals, 36 Games
06-07 Real Saragosse 22 Goals, 37 Games
07-08 Real Saragosse 15 Goals, 35 Games 2 Games (UEFA Cup)
08-09 Genoa 19 Goals, 27 Games

I was talking about Toni/Milito comparison before first one went to Bayern.

Toni is more physical, he is taller, he could hold up ball very well, but Milito has other qualities which evens the score.

Exactly :)

That's why I wonder how Milito situation is different with Toni one? They all show almost exactly the same promise. Toni became a "sudden" bombshell in Serie A, same with Milito. Toni scored plenty of goals, same Milito. Ages are also close.

The difference is the price, Milito is cheaper, but I don't remember correctly how much Fiora wanted for Toni, but I think that was not a small fee.

The point is, to me the situation is almost identical, with the difference, Toni was wanted by say 75% of the forum, while Milito is not wanted by 75% of the forum.

I'm not here to say Milito is right or wrong for us, I just find this situation amusing, comparing to the time with Toni.

Lets not forget, Milito done great also in spanish league, which shows he is not one dimmensional player. We didn't know that about Toni.

I think the time we wanted Toni we had less attacking options and we needed a great striker, all we had then was Oba, Cruz, Adri and Recoba... I think.

Milito has done more than Toni, he's a better football player allround. He's the perfect addition to our team when Crespo and Cruz leaves. People who fails to understand Cruz's and Crespo's importance fails to understand football.

We have a working system, the problem in this system isnt the strikers, it's the players we have in midfield, we play the wrong people in the wrong positions. That's something the drama queens above me has acknowledged for quite some time now.

A Milito - Ibrahimovic partnership can be a CL winning one in almost any team, the Cambiasso - Stankovic - Zanetti - Muntari partnership cant.

If we secure him now, it means we have more time to focus on the midfield in the summer, at least I hope.

Fourth striker might be Quagliarella.

Well the argument was that Milito would have scored more than Toni so Azzkikr pointed out it isn't the case. Actually those stats points out Toni scoring with over 20% better scoring rate (I know these kind of stats doesn't matter much). So no one can use that as an argument against Toni.

Price is pretty much the same. I remember it was a done deal with 25m€ Toni to Inter, and then in the last moment Della Valles refused as they didn't want to sell inside Italy.

Quagliarella isn't leaving Udine to be a 4th striker, he wants to be a starter and should be a starter...

Luca Toni scored 20 in 04/05, not 30.

And yes, I do think Toni is much better than D.Milito. For one, their consistency level.

Yeah, I regret that so much. I will forever dislike Della Valle for that. Toni is one of my favorites.

Inter need four quality strikers. All will get their chances over the season.

Yeah, it does seem like he wants to be the #1 or #2 striker in the team. But it doesnt seem like he wants to fight for it.

Milito would be a good signing no doubt. I'm sick of seeing Balotelli and Ibra standing outside of the penalty area. We need someone in there at ALL times. Even though I want/wanted Cassano, because he's my favourite player, this move might just be better for Inter. Now I just hope we sign some 2 class midfielders.

Lets just get Inzaghi and get 15 offsides a game then....
