This is what I wrote in June in response to some of the critics. How people can doubt world class players and leaders like Godin, I just don't understand.

Seriously? You have only seen videos of him and he looks meh? I am at a loss of words. This guy is a fucking beast, a big reason why Atletico and Uruguay have been so hard to beat in the last decade or so. And its not just his skills, experience and work rate that he brings with him, he also brings his mentality. If we had XI players with half of Godin's mental strength, we could have challenged Juve last season.

Just the impact his attitude will have in the dressing room and the stuff he can teach young Skriniar and De Vrij makes him worth his wages. His performances will just be a bonus. That is how I see it. We finally have a real fucking leader in the squad.

Boss. Last year he was pretty bad at times, maybe he simply needed new challange. So far, top class!

I'm one of them. And because only 1 of 10 players 30+ Inter gets works out, I still think that bringing him to Inter for the salary he gets was a mistake. That said: I'm glad he performs ALTHOUGH I wonder how long his positioning can compensate his pace deficits.

His parent named him Diego.

Actually, you can choose which of your parents lastname you should have in his home country. So his parents named him GODIN too.

Did anyone else notice how he was like a possessed man during the last 10 or so minutes motivating everyone and taking on 2 Bilan players till he went down? This was despite us having 2 goal lead.

Well Vidic was done when he came here,Godin looks far from being done.

Exactly, Vidic was already done before coming to Inter. It's a weird comparison they've made.

I felt he was our worst player today, along with Vecino and arguably Brozo. Slow on the ball, lots of wrong calls, was beaten couple of times one on one (as i recall) and was off few times.

It may have been finess issue but still. We need him in form and fit, i wouldnt play him every game. We need him in big games, so probably the best to rest him.

I personally liked him a lot, he won all aerial duels, all the corners were pretty much saved by him. Had some greats interceptions as well. Kinda surprised that anyone didn't like him today, decent game.
