One, if not the only one who played the entire game, others off and on, then some still reading the praises from the derby.....

I've been criticizing this guy ever since he arrived but this season he has improved a bit. I don't like the term workrate because it's an empty platitude when there is nothing concretely good about a player, but damn if he isn't working his ass off. Never an idle moment, always tracking up and down and trying his best to defend.
Decision-making is still garbage, I was screaming at my tv right up to his goal. If that ball didn't go in he would've been the main scapegoat here today.

I have a feeling Cuadrado has been giving him a run for his money in training sessions.

Hurt me to say that he was the only player that looked like a leader against Sassuolo. Maybe Inazghi's plan was wrong and we looked bad because of that, but yet Dumfries put in the work where others seemed clueless even before they scored.

maybe the reason he was the only one who rested against Empoli? Lautaro, Dimarco and Thuram looked so tired.

It's a possibility.

Yet, somehow, he was the one that looked like he believed we could at least draw the game.

To be fair, Lautaro was also trying. He just seem really exhausted. He did get in two goal-scoring positions in the last 5 minutes (handball plus the nice turn that should have been a corner).

Dumfries is in a better form than last season. I expect competition from Cuadarado when he comes back.

He'll always have technical limitations but he's definitely much better than last season. I'm not sure if he struggled with the transfer news last season or with being dropped for a period but he's doing well so far. His physicality can be a really big asset as he's stronger than any Serie A wingback/fullback and probably faster than most as well.

Really good work for the second goal.

They only serieA game he didn’t start for us, is the loss vs Sassuolo
What? You're talking about Dumfries? He started vs Sassuolo and scored our only goal at the end of first half.

I think Dumfries is in the best period of his career, since the UCL semi final, most of hi prestation are 7/10 and above imo.

What i like most about this guy is that he always seems to be going hard and never gives up or loses confidence...
One of our best thus far this season... despite the usual fuckups he has every now and then

No one even talks about how he contributed for the second goal?
Single-handedly took the ball in the final third, hold off his man, lay it off to LM and then goes and drag the D-line back to create space for the amazing finishing from LM.

Yeah that play showed his physical dominance over so many in his position in the league. And yet it looks like Darmian is going to start over him against Benfica and I think it’s probably the right decision. His lack of technical quality at the highest level is still a liability at times.

I'd appreciate if he goes back to being a threat in opponent's box from aerial duels. He is a good header, so I think he was quite a threat in earlier period from these far post jumps. Dunno if it's a tactical approach these days but he doesn't get himself involved like he used to.
