I'm not sure how good idea is to give him 4mln. He is good, but not so good actually. Hakimi was on 4 mln salary. From another hand, I don't know what we can buy for potentially 20-25mln from his sale.
Maybe it's win win situation for both sides.

We can still sell him after giving him new contract. Probably with a better position to negotiate. This is good.

Ideally, selling him for a good price would've been the best choice. Maybe that would minimise chances of sacrificing someone else from the starting line-up, and we could probably get someone better. He's not THAT bad, but he's also not good enough for this Inter. We have seen his best, but also his worst, so I think he doesn't get any better or any worse.

Yeah, Denzel have been sold inside interisti brains for a long time now. Right now most fitting for sacrifice. But Beppe is after stability, he knows Tajon is not yet ready and with new contract he would hold negotiation power.

This Inter team if it stays intact this summer, new additions Taremi + Zielinski coming. We would be favorites for the scudetto again easily. Milan, Juve, Napoli they will splash cash, change coaches etc. It takes time for a squad to click.

Maybe we aren't upgrading instantly, but not sacrificing someone else of starting line-up, and also giving Bisseck that responsibility seems like a better idea to me.

If we need to sacrifice someone sure,he is the first choice. But if we can keep him we should absolutely do it.

Also I imagine his price will be bigger after EURO. That will be the time to sell. Sick of premature deals from last seasons.

I don't get how Bisseck may be related, but of course if one starting player is to go, that's Denzel.

Probably harder to sell if we extend his contract, like if 25M is already a blocker for some clubs imagine buying fee + some increases from 4M? Like 5 M? Else I am all in for extend first then sale, but then we might end up like with Broz.

Also probably no one is willing to buy Correa even we sell him for cheap.

I guess we have an upgrade or not all depends on Tajon Buchanan's learning curve.

I think it’s smart for all involved. Dumfries isn’t a world-beater, but I think we would have a difficult time replacing him given the funds we would likely have available to reinvest. We saw against Atletico that he can be impactful, and these will be probably be the best years of his career.

If Dumfries stays we have one too many players in the rotation for RWB/RCB.

Wingback: Dumfries - Darmian - Buchanan

Right CB: Pavard - Darmian - Bisseck

Unless Inzaghi really intends to use Buchanan on the left side similar to the way he used Perisic. However, Perisic was used to playing on that side and was extremely two footed. Darmian has another year left and Inzaghi trusts him so he ain’t going anywhere. The sale of Dumfries still makes sense if we can buy either a Dimarco back up (and move Augusto to LCB full time) or buy a Bastoni back up.

IMO it's not too much. Darmian is a perfect guy on the bench. Can fill in multiple positions (ideally two, but if needed, four).

If Buchanan is trained to be "ambidextrous", that's even better. He can be on both flanks, like Darmian. That allows Augusto to stunt Bastoni when needed.

Keeping Dumfries makes sense if we can't find replacement for any positions required for cheap (RWB/LWB/LCB). Because selling Dumfries would mean we're using that money on two players (replacement and another guy we want). If that isn't possible, doesn't make sense to sell him in the first place.

Unless the club demands cost to be cut again ie. salary can't go up (since they go up with several other players) so we downgrade on the position -> Buchanan direct replacement and then we go cheap on LWB/LCB.

Bissek and Darmian can also go to LCB, if Bastoni is injured we have plenty of options, those 2 + Carlos&Dimarco together.

Bisseck has shown that he could be impactful as a right-wingback as well. Quite versatile player because of his attributes, but not sure how that will turn in a long shot. He can't play ahead of Pavard as a RCB, so why not try to make him adjust properly as a wingback.

It is the same like people saying Barella could be our RWB because he often patrols at our right flank  Of course there is a world of difference between a RWB and a CM who moves to right wing area.
Bisseck should just focus on RCB or maybe CCB. Can't imagine a 196 cm guy must run the wings up and down and having a footrace with naturally quick wingers.
