Not having to and it not being a huge advantage are two different things though. That’s like saying wingers don’t need to be consistent goal scorers. Well sure they don’t have to be but when they are it’s a huge bonus.

Our team doesn’t appear to be lacking much these days in part due to the fact we have some great players in certain positions and Inzaghi’s system masks a lot of flaws. But don’t get it confused, we are sorely lacking pace and dribbling still. That’s why we brought Buchanan/Cuadrado and are now interested in Ndoye.

We are in the bottom percentile for dribbling in Europe, the fact we are still somehow in top percentile for chance creation makes us an anomaly. Purely down to Inzaghi. But I’m sure there’s a reason he wants some pacey dribblers too.

Dumfries lacks technical abilities, which makes him looks awkward and funny at times, but he is quite smart, and most of his movements are correct. Considering the injury or Buchanan, the best solution seems to get him a new contract.
