Roma tie up Pizarro move
By Nadia Carminati - Created on 19 Aug 2006

Midfielder David Pizarro has switched to Roma on a four-year deal.

Pizarro had looked set to stay at Internazionale after refusing an offer from Roma, with Luciano Spalletti even admitting defeat in his quest to bring the Chilean to the Stadio Olimpico.

However, Pizarro has had a sudden change of heart and decided that his future does belong in The Eternal City.

Reports suggest that he left Inter's training camp in Mallorca to travel to the Italian capital and hold talks with Roma bosses.

His first season at Roma is to be classed as a loan, before a permanent move can be completed next summer.

The clubs have already agreed a fee, believed to be in the region of €6 million (£4.1 million).

Why are we loaning him out?

It's a transfer with possibility of bring him back next summer if he is on fire with Roma (i think he will be ok there but not determinant)
anyway, i think 6 millions for him it's not too much, he cost around 10 millions last summer, right?

Hmm... this is not such a bad deal if this is the case. I suppose Roma will have to pay us more if they want him permanently. Or am I wrong?

What amazes and irritates me is that we can't seem to say no to our die-hard rivals when they make requests about any of our players. Both Pizarro and eventually Burdisso may leave for a rival club just because we can't say no.

Inter never told NO to big teams. We all remember situations with Ronaldo, Cannavaro and now Pizzaro.

We better give them Scudetto

Pizarro just signed for Roma. Now discuss for five minutes, before the forum crash for an hour.

I actually have no problem with us giving him to Roma. I don't think they will be too much of a nut to crack.

Seeing as his market value surely has decreased a whole lot due to his weak performances with us last year I don't think it's too bad. If he shines then Roma know we'll want him back and, if they out-buy us and gets 100% of Pizarro, then they'll table an offer of a lot of money to secure his services.

I know primo, I mean these 'morons' have got us Vieira, Grosso, Crespo and Zlatan, on top of brilliant signings during the last 2 campaigns but hey, nobody's ever happy.

Bravo to them I say Frisko, but when they turn around and let go of players like Canna for a third rate keeper and then offload Pizarro and possibly Burdisso to pretty much direct competition one has to wonder if they have their head's on straight or not.

Frisko said:
They should get a Cobolli Gigli as president, somebody who doesn't blink before selling all the players just to make money, despite fans crying like little babies.

Poor example man, Gigli was forced into those sales and you know it. None of the players he sold were going to accept playing with Jube in the Serie B. Therein lies the difference Pizarro is not refusing to play for Inter, neither is Burdisso nor was Canna.

Frisko said:
Seriously, let the biatches moan primo, they'll never be happy anyway, I'm gonna do just like you and enjoy this great moment.

Enjoy it while it lasts guys (basically till late October) when we will once again be out of the chase. For the both of you the dark curtain of shame will fall hardest. At least for the rest of us who are in anticipation of yet another disaster will not be quite as shocked as you.

Leaving your comments aside I just want to reiterate my stand on this Pizarro thing. I dont care that he underperformed last year, Adriano and Zlatan did much the same, that didnt prevent us from retaining/capturing them. Why should it be so different with David? Sure Mancini is sticking to his stubborn 4-4-2 (or so it seems) but just because the player doesnt fit the formation does that mean we should turn around and strengthen a rival team? Those that do not see Roma as a solid contender for the title are dillusional.

EDIT: Just saw confirmation of the bad news I have been expecting all week, excuse me while I go throw up.

There goes my dream of a 4-3-3 ... back to 4-4-2. who will be creating the chances to score goals? lets c, shall we???

1. Figo -->> a fresh air for first 4 months of a last season, then fading away ... he does nt hv the legs to last a full season last time ... 1 year older, nething gonna change?

Ans. Unlikely, unless we hire Juve's medical staff.

2. Stan -->> nt a natural winger by ne strech of imagination ... by this move denied his fav position that he wud hv taken up behind the 2 strikers. But with an overlapping LB ... i hope he wud be better. Those hv seen the WC are bound to disagree.

Ans. Maybe (=may be not)

3. Cesar -->>

Ans. **** off

4. Solari -->> he wud be played RW or at LW (only Coppa matches with the 2nd 11) ... unless we also decide to sell him off to giv Cesar more sense of security

Ans. he wont play dat much ... so does nt matter what he can giv to the team

I think it has something to do with Roma losing the race to sign Diarra.

They almost signed Alou Diarra from Lens, but then they dropped the offer to get Pizarro. Now Lyon have sold Mohammed Diarra to Real, so Lyon will buy Alou Diarra from Lens.

I think that's what happened and Roma pursued the matter more aggressively and got their man.

Oh yeah? Like who (no disrespect to you) ?

Figo, who will be able to play whole 45 minutes at his 100% ?

Stankovic who can't create a shit, and he is no winger at all!!!

Maybe Cesar, or Solari who sure is decent, but he is not extraordinary ?

You can ofcourse play Grosso, Maxwell on the left, which would be the best option, but then you have no back up for the left back.

And don't even start with 3 in defense.

Mancio is a moron, and I am saying that out loud. No one in the ****in world is playing 3 defenders any more, and he thought: "Hey, why don't we play a tactic Italy played hundred years ago".

I am officialy now counting down the time for arrival of senior Spaletti. Man is roaming from club to club, and he is one of the best tactitians in Italy.

For one, he knows what is playmaker...

I feel so stupid right now, because I believed Mancio will use 4-3-3, but I guess you never know when a moron is reborn. Even if David stayed he would probably still played on the right, or in defense or... you never know when it comes to Mancini.

We will play 4-4-2 with absolutely no creativity in the center which is the most ridiculous thing in the world. Juve played that, but if referes are wearing your shirt you can play with 10 defenders and still win. Of course it's sarcasm, but you know what I mean.

Jude at least had creative wings in the names of Nedved and Camoranesi while we have Figo who is creative grandpa. At the end of last season his face was red after 60 minutes on the pitch and it will be worse this year. And I already said Stankovic is creating a shit.

I remember well when we played without Veron even though he was worse last season, but still, and basicaly saying... it didn't look good.

You'll all see how you should play Pizarro on 26'th. I won't say Mancio, because even if you show him the future he wouldn't understand.

I'm so ****in pissed right now. We will play 4-4-2 again, and better with 2 defensive midfielders this year and it will be all the same. Mancio will start the season with his best and my favourite: "There is a long way till the end of the season", and you all know what that means...

Unbelievable, thought Pizarro changed his mind and won't join Roma, even our last playmaker is gone. Wonder what our play next year will be like, we might as well get Cuper back to play his traditional 4-4-2 with 2 centrally defensive minded midfielders.

Atleast we have a real support forward. I think Zlatan will make enough chances for the other striker. If we didn't have him we would be in real trouble. I am sad to see Pizaro go but I quess we just have to
move on.

Yeah sure. But if you play 2 defensive midfielders in the center all the creation is focused on the wings, and we are no Ascoli, or Catania (no disrespect to them) that we can play there with any players we have. They have to be VERY GOOD wingers.

If CafeCordoba meant that, I have to take back my words.

Yeah, the list is long... Now, Stan is no winger, Cesar is just wondering around, Solari is decent, but we all know how Mancio values him, Javier is no typical winger, and Figo we all know that he is living his second youth :)

From that list you can say Maxwell played very good in Ajax and he can be great winger, but then you have no back up for left back.

I'm so confused right now, and I just want to wake up at 1'st of september and just see straight ahead what squad we'll have without all those emotions and frustration. Maybe it would be easier then.
