He made a big mistake (along with Sanchez) on their 2nd goal. Completely lost his marker to ball watch. As soon as I saw Barrow in that space I knew it was in if Palacio found him.

D'Ambrosio, de Vrij, and Young were all back covering on the break. De Vrij and Young both went for the man closest to the screen, meaning D'Amrosio had to collapse in to pressure Palacio. This led to Barrow streaking in wide open where D'Ambrosio should have been.

I've been one of his supporters for most of his time here, but he definitely shouldn't be starting more. His perfect role in the squad is exactly his current one: a player for our 'B team' who will always be ready to play and give a helping hand to the team when called upon.

Him starting more than he currently is means that our overall squad quality isn't good enough.

- he contributes more in attacking faze, always dangerous
- he defends well, probably better 1 0n 1 defender from Skriniar, at least on wide position
- he have grinta mentality, never gives up

I used to hate dambro with all my heart..... one of the things that made me join the forum after lurking for years was to come here and bash on him. Some of my first post are about him.

The guy has completely won me over. He has put everything on the line. one of the only few or even maybe the only one that has given everything on the pitch. He has pulled through in the must crucial moments.

The perfect versatile backup. Maybe not quality enough to be regular starter, but is the perfect backup. Can cover all defensive positions, and even RWB and LWB.

He's a good player, and above all he's a man.

He gives his all and never complains when he sits on the bench.

It really should be normal but it has become so rare that it's refreshing to see.

And yet he's awful with the ball. He should stop trying forward passes, full stop. So many giveaways without much pressure. Like said, perfect backup but he's no way ideally fitting to Conte's side CB where you need to bring the ball forward and/or pass it forward. And I'm not even talking about some long ass hard passes to Lukaku but simple flicks and so on. The rate of giveaways in those is just way too high for Dumbo.

His versatility however will provide him a spot in the team as its crucial to player able to switch between RCB and RWB in 352.
