In South Africa calling a white guy a monkey is calling him dumb. But here if you use the same term to any other race it's considered racist.

The appealing was ok but the telling the umpire it was out on the clarke catch was wrong especially the part of ponting raising his finger it the showing it's out way. Thats not his job and should be left to the umpires.

Yeah Stefan, if H.Singh really was being a racist and had more racists comments, then it's fair for the Aussies to complain BUT what I meant to say is - IF H.Singh was giving Aussies the taste of their own medicines, why can't they take it well ?? :)

Anywaz, I do hope that the beautiful game of cricket is not marred by these kind of incidents in the future.

Sounds like sour grapes to me guys!

I've been half-going for India too, you've got some of my favourite players in the world.. too many to name.

You can't blame to Aussies for appealing, that's what an appeal is.. you're trying to convince the umpire it's out. True though the level of umpiring has been sub-par. Especially Dravid's dismissal, that was a shocker.

But really.. "Aussie cricket has hit a big low instead of setting a record here."? Get your hand off it mate. :p

What are you on?

Appealing : It is an Australian War Dance and they have done it since 1696. And now we are used to it and accept it.

Ponting telling the umpire that Clarke caught the ball is not the umpire's mistake. You cant blame the umpire for believing the Captain of a team, that too team Australia, if he was India's captain he would have been sacked by now.

I'm not defending the umpires, they were poor. Moreover, of all the players, Procter didnt apparently listen to what Sachin said(which is opp of what Symonds and Haydos say).

Moreover, the Aussies say that Harbhajan has a history.

But do you know who has a history against India??? Symonds certainly doesnt have good memories in the recent past. Procter tried to ban Sehwag for excessive appealing. Do you know what happened? We played him against the wishes of ICC and it was declared an unofficial test.

What is now going to happen is that we are going to mentally fark the ICC. The BCCI is facing amazing pressure back home, I'm sure it will be raised in the parliament as well.

I might have offended a few Aussies here, but hand on heart I dont believe Harbhajan said anything racist. I might be wrong, but it could have been solved out within the teams. Ponting's made a mistake.

this test will surely end in a draw unless a dramatic collapse occurs

hooray for prediction!

and on the racism thingy...

both sides should grow up

racism is wrong, they know it and both nations should grow up

this has been drawn out way too long simply because its a better headline than "australia wins...again"

i dun watch cricket and i hate it but

thank you indians

i hate the australian cricket team, this has made me so happy they finally deserve the sh1t they are getting, especially ponting who is just an absolute c0cksmoker....a world class c0cksmoker, if there was a c0cksmoking 11, he'd be the captain, wicket keeper, opening batsmen and coach.

i hope they burn more effigies of him and the likes of hogg....i hope india dont b1tch out and continue their fight.

That's why S.Waugh was such a great captain and I have always missed him, even though I am not a fan of the Aussie cricket team.:D

Ponting and the umpires really let the game down. I hope the Perth test would be a wonderful game to watch but I have a big doubt with the Indian batsmen, or would all these anger lead them to surprise the host (or perform piss poor).

You can expect more then a few bouncers on a fast Waca pitch.
the media here are split 50/50 over the issue.

most people think, india should prove their worth on the cricket pitch rather then whinge outside it. The fact bucknor has been suspended for the next test match is a joke. you can imagine what kind of retarded precedent that will set..

As I said earlier, people would say that India should have proved their worth on the pitch but I think in this test, they did it only for the luck not to be in their side. And when 11 is playing against 13, it gets more tougher. I am not saying those 2 were bribed the Juve way but the umpires had very very off days after days in this test.

And when the host nation's 50/50 over such an issue, then it can be said that something was definitely wrong there.

This is a well written article:

I have to agree with almost everything written in that article.

If at the start of the tour someone told me the test series will end as a tie, I would have laughed at his face, pabs.

India did enough to atleast draw this game, perhaps the umpires decisions prevented us from being in a good position on Days 1 and 5. Symonds 1st innings runs were the difference in the end.

I agree about S.Waugh's part. I've met him personally along with Slater,Punter and McGrath and I have to say the greatest arrogant prick was Ponting even in 2003. McGrath and S.Waugh were really really nice to talk to. I hate Ricky Ponting since that day.

Sad to see a legend of the modern game go. You have been great Polly, a true gentleman as well.

Allrounder ends career
Pollock announces retirement

Shaun Pollock, the South Africa allrounder, has announced his retirement from international cricket following the second day's play against West Indies in Durban. The current Test, his 108th, will be his last and the one-day series that follows the final matches for his country.
"I'd like to thank Cricket South Africa for allowing me the opportunity of representing my country for the last 12 years," Pollock told a press conference after the day's play. "I thoroughly enjoy the honour and privilege of wearing the Protea badge and take with me some remarkable memories having played against some great players."
"I made the decision at the start of the season that the West Indies series would be my last," he said. "I have been fortunate to be in a team that has had the calibre of players to beat any opposition on any given day. I have made some wonderful friendships and have played against some remarkable characters."
Pollock, 34, regained his Test place for the deciding match against West Indies after not playing in the five-day game since January 2007. He currently stands on 420 Test wickets, the most by a South African, and 387 in ODIs. There is a chance he will finish with 400 in both forms depending on his success in the one-day series against West Indies.
Pollock was thrust into the captaincy of South Africa in April 2000 when Hansie Cronje was drummed out of the game, and he faced the biggest challenge of his career - to lift a shocked and demoralised South African side. However, after a solid start to his captaincy, he lost some credibility after a 3-0 drubbing in Australia in 2001-02, and was later blamed for South Africa's disastrous World Cup in which they failed to qualify for the Super Sixes.
As a result, Pollock immediately lost the captaincy and was replaced by Graeme Smith. Though his nagging brilliance around offstump remained, his pace and ability to take wickets at the top of the order dipped in latter years.
"I realise I have been blessed by God," he said, "and feel I have nurtured my talents to the best of my abilities."

500 is what I was looking for, but looking at the situation it doesnt seem possible. Thank you , the Aussies, you brought out the best performances from our team, hurting our emotions. Even Sehwag is scoring runs..

about 400 will be the total, which is still a good score.

i think india got lucky because of the those missed catches.

but the little masters century deserves a lot of praise.

We were unlucky too with some "catches" they caught. We were unlucky with some "catches" we caught and the umpire didnt understand.

I'm glad Ganguly has been dropped from the ODI team, he hasnt done anything special against good teams. No offence to shahz, but the Pakis who came over to India werent a very strong unit.

and Sehwag apparently was out on a no-ball.

Helal, it evens itself out normally, but I think Bucknor made tooo many mistakes and its not the first time its happened against us. That is the only reason Bucknor was kicked out.

And you cant temme Symonds wasnt out in Sydney, would have been a different test series if that was given. :D
