Delete prefs.js file from Firefox folder. It will take away all bookmarks, history, passwords etc. but then you will have your Firefox back. Worked for me.

Ah, finally it works. :D

I uninstalled Firefox, delete all my preferences when asked and delete the whole "Mozilla Firefox" folder from the C:\Program Files folder. Your suggestion spurred this idea, thanks Darky. :)

One little problem now, how do I remove the + sign (The one that's for "Open a new tab") that's on the very right of my tabs? I forgot how to do it. :D

Since non-hardware computer question seems to be going around,
Oracle or DB2 certification for clinical/pharmaceutical companies?
I'm guessing MSSQL is probably out of question.

I have a problem with my DVD drive, when i put cds in it it doesnt read them, and when i double click on the DVD rom icon it opens up the tray, is that a lens problem or a SATA cable (defect cable) OR the actual Sata socket in the motherboard problem?

Maybe test it in some else's pc if that's possible?? If it works you now the issue is with your pc. Also try and get a different sata cable and test that then try a different sata port ( most pc's has more than one).

ERUNT backup utility

Backing-up your registry is one of most important - and often overlooked - tasks that users should perform on their PC’s every day. A corrupted or damaged registry can render your entire system useless and inoperable and so a simple backup everyday can save a lot of tears.

Download ERUNT.

This is very helpful software, I recommend you to install it.. also I'm using this!

Best Regards,
Besnik.

I have this laptop, and its screen just broke. I use my TV monitor as a second screen. The settings on my laptop were that laptops screen would be the main one, and if connected to the TV, the TV screen becomes the secondary screen, thus allowing me to watch two pornos at the same time.

Now that screen is broken on the main one. I cant change the secondary screen to my main one, for that I need to go in to preferences, and that always opens up on the main screen, which is broken and i cant see shit. Its really annoying and is pissing me off.
Is there any way I can change my secondary screen to my main screen, without actually looking at my main screen? any help would be well appreciated.

FYI, I have tried the Fn+(F1,F2,F3,.......F12) and none of that has worked.

Try removing the cable that runs from your TV to your laptop and then connect it again.

Shaz, right clicking on the background (wallpaper) should let you access to either nvidia or catalyst (radeon) control center if your graphic driver is updated, but if you can't get there, right click on the background and go properties in xp, or Screen Resolution on 7. There should be an option to change your primary monitor.

edit. Oh wait, this doesn't fix your problem :(

Open control panel as mentioned above.
Press alt+space+m. Its hotkey to move windows. Hold mouseBotton1 and drag windows to your second monitor.
Apply whatever settings.

I dont wanna move the windows screen. If i do that, whenever i minimize something, it goes back to the main screen.

What if I remove the main laptop screen completely. The computer will realize that the main screen isnt there, and then use the tv screen as the main screen, or will that not work?

Once you move control panel to the working monitor, and get access to display menu(same command, alt+space+m->drag with m1), there should be an option that lets you display same screen on both of your monitors. You'll be able to use 2nd monitor as your main screen after that.

no prob. anyways, I say you buy new cheap lappy rather than spend 200 bucks on monitor (assuming its replacing lappy lcd, cuz thats what it usually costs).
It isn't worth spending money on repairing when cheap Dell costs around 400bucks.

Why do I keep getting computer problems!?

I was out of the city for a few days and left my desktop on to download some torrent.

When I come back, it's off and everytime I turned it on, the whole thing just restarted all the time. (It didn't even load the Windows XP, just the usual HP welcome screen, some black screen and then back to the usual HP welcome screen over and over again)

What should I do?
