Why is a very philosophical question and considering Capello is quite the philosopher himself, no one knows...But while there are SAFs in the world of coaching, most these days switch quite often...I don't think you can bank on a coach like Capello sticking around too long...Even 3 seasons would be ambitious but it could happen

Let's face it. Yes, this team needs a slow, patient and planned transition but we are Inter Goddammit. We don't plan shit and everything that happened was done without any long-term view.

We won our first Scudetto signing oldies like Vieira & Crespo. Won the Treble by signing oldies Milito, Eto'o and Lucio. Of course there was some youth or players at their prime mixed in those campaigns but we have always been a trigger happy club.

Now, I usually put pride & honor before everything. But I love Inter too much and right now, we are not in a position to bargain. I don't give a motherfuck if Capello is the Devil himself, if he has coached Milan, Juve & Roma. He is one of the best coach in the world and we need him more than we need any players. Ever since Mou quit, I feel that the biggest hole in our team is not in the players or formation or line-up, but that spot on the bench.

Fuck pride, fuck reason, fuck Ranieri, fucking get Capello.

According to Di Marzio and Sky Sports we've already agreed terms with Capello and Moratti's dream of Capello at Inter will finally come true.

No Capello isn't at all acclimatised to youth. That is why I would still take a gamble on AVB, atleast we know with him Poli, Alvarez, Ranocchia, Juan and Faraoni have a slight glimmer of hope to play.

That is not 100% true. At Roma, he used a 23-year old Cristiano Zanetti a lot. Also Totti and Emerson were also on the young side, only 24. Also he started Zebina and Samuel both at 22 years old. His Scudetto winning side was an average age of 26.6 years old...our average age this year is 29.7 years old :palm: And that is including Obi when I calculate the most used 11 players. If I use Alvarez instead, it bumps up to 30.0 years old.

His Juve team was a bit older, but he still used Blasi, Appiah and Ibrahimovic who were all relatively young. His second season was the first season where Chiellini made an impact for Juve.

And then at Real Madrid he introduced Sergio Ramos and even used Torres, Gago and Robinho...all very young players. he likes experienced players, but he has always mixed in some youngsters which is why he is such a great manager.

Another good thing about these news regarding Capello(IF true, of course..) is that it'll give Moratti&Branca a lot of time to work on the players that Capello want. Capello certainly is the first coach since Mourinho that Moratti can fully trust.

e: anyways, shouldn't the manager-rumours-thread be re-opened with all these rumours circulating?

If we do not get Capello, we may be in for a few more seasons of mediocrity...

It seemed to work out great last time...I say go for it lol

Mancini was weirder situation, dude won 3 titles after a severe drought and we dropped him like a sack of potatoes.

Oh believe me...I'd drop Ranieri and take Capello in a new york minute.

Inter management needs someone like him to hide their incompetence. 4 straight mercatos is enough proof of incompetence. Problems for him (not my problems) would be:

(1) He'd want at least 3-4 year contract (is Inter going to cry FFP)
(2) His salary will be high (is Inter going to cry FFP??)
(3) He'd want it to be a real PROJECT (not the shit we've been doing)
(4) He'd want a lot of control over the project; almost full autonomy (is branca going to cry?? / can MM live with that/not interfere??)

The only thing I don't like about Capello is his philosophy in attack. Very old school Italian mentality (train defense; allow the attack to create freely) which is not the direction modern football has taken (patterned attack). His attack with Enlgand was very, very poor. But he is proven to get results and players respect him a lot, so I can live with that.

I think the fact that Moratti is obsessed with him will help him bend a little to make it happen. Kinda like how we didn't want to spend big bucks on any new signing, but then spend almost 20m on Ranocchia lol

Mediaset also says Laurent Blanc is a front runner for our bench because he's leaving France after the Euro.

Just Capello , Mou ,Guardiola or HIdding no one else..

I like Capello and his authority , no one can fuck with him . We need that type of coach, because ever since we won the CHL our players seem to be very comfortable playing , sometimes it gives me the impression they just dont want to play anymore(maicon, and sneider sometimes..) With him on our bench it will be different story :D

F.C. Internazionale press release
Thursday, 09 February 2012 18:50

MILAN - The rumours circulating in the media regarding a possible change of coach at Inter, "now or at the end of the season, are totally groundless," Massimo Moratti stressed.

Therefore, the latest rumour about Fabio Capello supposedly taking over at Inter is "also groundless," the president affirmed.

Capello is coming :slick:

That's basically the same exact statement they released in response to the Spalletti rumors in December.

Knew that was coming. I don't believe anything of it though, everyone know Inter is changing coach come summer.
