MOTM on our side. Dude was our most dangerous player the whole match.

Unfortunately Augusto and Thuram were noticeable " off the boil" today, but then again the whole squad looked and moved that they still hadn't digested their Christmas feast.

I think I like this guy better as a LCB. Every time he plays wingback I feel like we’re lacking something in terms of technical quality. He’s no Dumfries but he does lack a bit of finesse at times in his touch.

Gives me Darmian vibes, with a better shot maybe.

Always happy to have Darmians in the team though.

I like him better as LCB than wing too, but between Darmian and him i would play Darmian LCB and Carlos wing, considering Bastoni/Dimarco are both out.

Yes it’s obvious that he needs to play wingback while Dimarco is out. However, long term we might want to look for another LWB in the summer and move Augusto to being the full time Bastoni back up.

Bastoni/Augusto - Acerbi/De Vrij - Pavard/Bisseck. Darmian continues to be the jack of all trades guy.

I don’t think his finesse is necessarily inferior to Dimarco, but Dimarco’s learned to involve himself alongside Bastoni and Miki.

I don’t think we suffer on the left when Barella plays in Miki’s spot, but when either Bastoni or Dimarco are missing, the whole left-side struggles.

In the recent past, it’s taken a while for wingbacks to adapt (including Dimarco and Dumfries) so I’m hopeful Augusto can start gelling with the system over time.

Hoping for some improvements offensively as I think he's capable of more in that part of his game. At times it felt like he was trying too much to set teammates up as he had one occasion where he should have gone for the shot.

I want to give him credit defensively though, especially when Fiorentina went long with all of their crosses - this guy is very good in the air. I saw that Inzaghi said he planned to bring on Dimarco but decided against it when Fiorentina brought physical players on. Dimarco would have suffered a lot defensively, C. Augusto is very solid in this role.

He also has this tendency to win challenges that are even 70-30 in opponent's favor. He just doesn't shy away from going into a challenge at all.

He's a very solid defender. One thing that surprised me is how good he is in the air.

I still think we have yet to see the best of him offensively but hopefully it will come.

Carlos is giving me some late Ranocchia vibes. Very solid. Put him on and you know he'll be fine.

I've noticed that Carlos is very solid in the air. He is a monster in defending on those long balls. He looks like a bargain so far.

I always wonder when native speakers say someone is a jack of all trades. Is that a negative comment? Like good at everything but also good at nothing.

Great outing for him today, albeit against a rather clueless opponent. Growing into his role regardless. Many fine performances today, gave him the MOTM today.

It’s a relief to have a sub that performs like this.
