i mean Conor went 10 rounds with the best boxer ever. How long would flloyd last in Conors world...

Depends whether Conor tries to kick him a few times. Otherwise about as long as CM Punk lasted

Triple G vs. Canelo should be awesome. Triple G is undefeated, and Canelo has only been beaten by Mayweather. Two offensive styles as well.

I'm still fascinated by the CM Punk fight. Dude literally gets spear tackled a few seconds in the match. Who the fuck was coaching him?

I dont know what people were expecting? Everyone who knew anything about mcgregor knew he was going to gas out after a few rounds. Floyd may be 40 but he still is cinstantly training. Not like hes been lying in a sofa only for 2 years. Mcgregor really exceeded my expectations. He landed 30 times more than pacman and i was really impressed with how he was able to dodge most of flloyds shots. Think both of them were winners with the way it went, i mean Conor went 10 rounds with the best boxer ever. How long would flloyd last in Conors world...

Mayweather apparently runs 10 miles a day. Which is great for an average dude, but if McGregor can't even do that as a top fighter...

I know people who are very fit and couldn't last two rounds sparring. Because how fit you are doesn't always exactly equate to how long you can do something for. Floyd is super comfortable boxing because he's been doing it since he was 4. He could box longer than fitter people than him because he is efficient and relaxed when in the ring. I'm not implying Conor is fitter of course. Also, there are many variables involved. Conor had to cut weight. As someone who has cut weight before I can tell you it affects your cardio. His style is more energy dependent. Also, some people are just more naturally gifted from a V02 Max perspective. Cambiasso for example was never going to be fitter than JZ even if he trained harder.

Anyway, long point short. Conor isn't "unfit". His issue is probably more a mental one than a physical.

CM Punk was training at one of the best MMA gyms around, but learning to clinch, wrestle, box, kick, and do jiu jitsu is a few years is a monumental task in general. He's not like a amazingly physically gifted athlete either so he was never going to be able to compete.

Also, you try just training defensive wrestling for a year, and I'd be t it'll still be difficult trying to stop a take down like that. Although, he did make some pretty obviously technical errors.

Yeah but to lose the upper hand so quickly.... Just went in for a hit and leaving himself completely open.

exactly what's wrong with boxing....

118-110 is total bs. Canelo won 5 rounds max.

Damn what a fight..

I watched it without commentary and had Canelo winning 7, but I thought it was 6-6 because Golovkin pushed forward but Canelo landed far cleaner.

Both have a great chin, especially Golovkin. Cant wait for the rematch.

7?? Canelo will get hate because of that ridiculous 118-110. Not his fault. Good fight nonetheless. Although i expected a little more from GGG.

9 sept. Loma - Rigondeaux.

LOL. The 118-110 nutjob was Adelaide Byrd. No fucking wonder. I think the MMA fans can agree.

Im sorry but golovkin won that fight, no way in fucking hell did canelo win it. He landed big punches by his standards but never even bothered golovkin and he landed less. You could tell even a golovkins jab was bothering canelo.

GGG was always going to have to win that fight comfortably to be awarded a win by decision. Canelo makes way too much money for them to let him lose, and did you see who the main sponsor was yesterday?

Great fight! Although I'm mexican I wanted GGG to win, I just didn't like Canelo and thought he was overrated, but he won my respect with this fight. Finally he had a true challenge with no excuses.

It was a very close fight, I think a tie was a very fair result. Some rounds were very difficult to score, GGG was very aggressive but not as effective, he missed a lot of right hands. Canelo got the cleaner punches but he needed to throw more. Hopefully the rematch will be next year.

see i don't get what would the reasoning be behind the "draw"? what makes people say that?

ggg punched more, hurt him more, he was pushing the tempo.

under what rules was this a draw?

Actually Canelo connected more power punches. I saw Canelo winning rounds 1-3 and 10-12 and GGG 4-9. That's 6 rounds each. Altough round 12 was very close and could go to GGG. A tie or a win by GGG by 1 or 2 points would be ok to me.

you want it to be a draw because of 4 more power punches which did not phase golovkin at all

I just saw a replay of the match by coincidence, it's been years since I saw a boxing match (was a big Naseem fan) and Mayweather vs Mcgregor doesn't count.

Have to say I thoroughly enjoyed that! Was rooting for triple G since he's from a small nation and I also have a friend from there and the bigger reason is his knock out rate, wth? Isn't that odd in today's boxing? Specially at the highest level? Most of them are probably against no-names but then again he's from Kazakhstan so maybe people underestimated him and he knocked out some heavy boxers?

Too bad it ended in a draw and don't really know what that means, maybe whoever had the belt before keeps it? Even though I'm not a boxing fan I know that intense, blow taking match was rare as most big matches are comma inducing rubbish.
