You are comedy gold man... please continueWelcome maestro.
(Now go and have a good talk with Nainggolan, pretending to be Monchi)

So a 5mil signing will either be right or wrong based on if we make CL? Nothing else matters?
What if he breaks his leg and doesn't play at all but we make the CL, good signing?
What if he's a total bench player, getting gabigol minutes, but we make CL, good signing?
What if he has 100% pass accuracy, most key passes, most assists, but we lost all our attackers to injury and thus don't make CL, BAD signing?
Can't make this shit up. FiF during mercato is near one of the most ridiculous places to be. The most asinine and irrational make an appearance
It's no secret that I was against this signing. I think Inter want to make it to CL and they think Valero can help them achieve that goal. I question that decision and am willing to eat my words and admit that he was the right purchase if we make it to CL. If we don't make it to CL then no matter how many goals he scores or assists, I am going to label him as a failure.
When you have an objective you sign players to achieve it. If you fail then it means you signed the wrong players, doesn't mean the player was bad.
History tells us he is going to fail like the dozens who failed before him. We'll wait and see...

I'm sorry, I didn't know I had to idiot-proof my post and list every possible exception. Obviously there are exceptions. But, I was talking in general.
I never said he is supposed to help us alone and never said I want 18 year olds. I'm strongly for signing Nainggolan and he is 28 years old. I have no problem with signing older players if they manage ro raise our quality. What is Valero offering that Banega couldn't? What has Valero done in his career to suggest he can be a good signing for us?
Banega was only in Seria A for one season and played for a team which changed coaches 4 times yet his stats were better than Valero's.
Teams usually sign older players for their maturity, experience and winning mentality. Valero's experience is max suitable for a midtable team and what does make you think he has a winning mentality? What is our team supposed to gain from his experience?
What's your reason for wanting Valero? I think you mentioned something like "whenever we played Fioretina he always ran circles around our midfield". So if bossing our players is the standard then why just stop there? Wasn't there a 3d choice keeper (don't remember which team was it) last season who completely shut down all our shots and made us look like bunch of amatures? Why don't we sign him then?!
After all this is all my opinion and I could be wrong. But in my opinoin Valero is far from the quality required by a team aiming for CL. He is best suited for a team like Fiorentina. Yes, we do need experience but not any experience will do. If we are going for experience we should go for someone with CL experience AT LEAST.
I dont think you needed to idiot proofe your post you could have just left away this one utterly idiotic statement in the quote and you would have been good.
Your baisicaly saying no matter how good the player is if we fail our objective he was a bad buy.
Was handa a bad buy? Was Icardi a bad buy? We ve missed ever single objective since these two joined jet in my books both great buys.
What adriano@10 said.
No. Valero didn't just boss us. He bossed all teams in Serie A, with Fiorentina, with mediocre players around him. And not once or twice, but for 4 seasons in a row. He is undoubtedly one of the best midfielders in Serie A for 4 years in a row. So MY OPINION is, he's not just an average midfielder. Did you not watch Fio v Juve or Fio v Roma or Fio v Napoli these past years?
And again with Banega. I love Banega, more than most people on this forum. He is just not consistent enough. Can have absolute dynamite games, then next game, misplacing every pass.
Enough with the stats. It means zero in this instance tbh. You're making it seem like it's a striker comparison, and 1 striker has 5 goals and the other has 50. If striker A has 20 goals and striker B has 22, saying striker B is better because he scored 2 more goals is rather stupid. Do you also realize Banega is not a starter while Valero was? That Valero played almost 1500 more minutes than Banega?
Lastly, I want Valero because he is technically gifted, plays with a possession-based mindset of controlling possession through passing and moving, is very consistent at it, imposes it against his opposition, and is tactically astute. It is extremely difficult to get the ball from him. Extremely. He is also an extremely hard working midfielder, running tirelessly. Of his traits, the only thing Banega has on him is technical ability and even that is very, very close.
Our core midfield is young and will benefit from his work habits, how he approaches/prepares for a game, and how he actually executes on the field.
Our coach wants him and wanted him since he returned to Roma 1.5 seasons ago. Our coach tried to buy him 3 times in each of the 3 mercatos while at Roma. He cost 5mil. So for me, there can be NO DOWNSIDE to this transfer.
"there were no other teams does not rate him? NONE!"How about, if Valero is one of the best midfielders in Serie A, there were no other teams interested in him? NONE! They all must be blind while you are the only one who could see his quality.
