I think that might be the plan of Conte. Play on 110% in the first half, get as many goals as possible and then because we will be totally drained focus on defending the (hopefuly) lead.

Had we score a few more from those chances in first half it might work. Plus, goal from nothing for suarez that can't score for his life recently.

Very unlucky, but you need games like that to get back to the top.

Undeserved loss but we're on the right track. We still lack experience and balls for games of this level. Conte was correct that Inter should been more clinical when is playing against Barca's caliber club. Brozo and Asamoah were the weak links tonight. Sensi and Barella impressive again. And fuck Politano! This cunt fucked up the game with one wrong decision.

P.S. - i think, the intervention against Sensi was a penalty call?

We had the perfect 1st half. I just don't know if it's dumb from Conte or was it really the only realistic strategy to keep on fuckin defending, pulling all the players back, playing from the back and keep inviting pressure. It drives me insane that so many coaches try and play this way in the Camp Nou yet almost all of them lose. Like someone said earlier I'd rather we at least try and fuckin win rather than lose by 1 goal only, when in my opinion it was only inevitable that they would equalize and probably score a winner too.

Disappointing way to lose the game. However, this is much better than what we showed against Barcelona last year. Sensi and Barella made the difference.

I’m not as angry as last year because we actually put a great display in the first half, second half we lost cause players were obviously exhausted and Cunte went full Spalletti with defensive subs, also Barca is still Barca with great squad and super players which can make the difference under any circumstances with moments of brilliance.

Just hoping October won’t go full annihilation on us, specially that we have juBe and Sassoulo next

Dortmund is the best team in the Group we are winning shit agains them

Slavia was actualy way better than them today. If we cant defeat Dortmund we better finish last, no need to get fucked in the Europa league.

Candreva was the best player on the field today, not sure why he was subbed out, Barella was a machine ran everywhere, Brozo was terrible, Sensi was Terrible, Assamoah was a travesty.

Subs were terrible to be honest, none of them had any impact whatsoever.

We managed to gamble all away with six points from two games last year, what makes one think we'll pull it through with one?

The first half is the best half I've seen in quite a while. Tbh I don't care we lost. If we can show up like we did in the first half consistently, it's only a matter of time before we climb back to top of the Europe.

Agree with the sentiment, but I honestly don't see how that could have made any difference. The game turned when Sensi got tired and Vidal brought fresh intensity to Barca. The Politanos or Gagliardinis of the world could not change that.

This is a young team in development. There were too many positives today to feel dejected. Forza Inter, this is the start of something special.

My feeling as well. We're down but we're not out. We play like this, we can overcome Dortmund. We can take on Barcelona at home which is not something I would've said last year. We didn't play like a team afraid of the environment, which is the #1 thing I asked for prior to the game. We never expected points from this game but for a game that, well, "met expectations" I guess, there are a thousand different ways that would've been worse than this.

Keep our chins up. That #InterIsComing hashtag would be really appropriate right about now.

Same thing I said at the start of this, we are too deficient to even be in the Champions League, but we need the money for the appearance, or something. Well, we got money to get embarrassed. I swear to God if we go into the Europa League I'm done. Just concentrate on Serie A.

Great game from us and lots of good things happening! Sad we cant bury those changes and make things easy for our self, but you can learn a lot these kind of maches. Suarez was the difference today, but hope that we can get Sanchez in to 100%. Sensi and Barella have impressed me the most, but still I would like to see someone like Kante or Torreira kind at Brozovic position!

I cant remember when I was so optimistic after a loss? Good fight of our boys!

To be fair to Conte and the subs, like everyone says had the chances been converted it would have been a different game.

We didn't have much expectations here to begin with, but it was doable. We didn't handle the situation very well after the first half.

- Tactically on the defensive end we were very good but we had no idea of how to retain possession. This just recycled Barcelona's game and we were put under pressure constantly.
We only made three big mistakes at the back and two of them cost us. First was Barella leaving his spot to go for the ball and then to chase it back only to see Suarez finish that volley off. For their second goal we left our mark open and Godin was left by himself to defend a great first touch by Suarez whereas Messi had like 4 people around him. The other occasion was iirc in the first half when Artur missed the target. There was also that Griezmann chance but he was offside so I won't consider it.
These slip ups happen, but when they happen against teams like Barcelona, you can expect them to turn out to be high quality scoring chances.

- Our inexperience showed. Cannot really single out anyone who was really good, perhaps De Vrij was the best player for us throughout the game but with 2 goals against us that's a tough statement to defend. Felt that Barella was good in his role and Godin was a nuissance for Barcelona.

- When Sanchez went off for Gagliardini, we simply invited Barcelona to i) attack us from the wings - which was the thing we had to avoid in the first place, ii) isolate us in our area since Lautaro by himself was no threat against two relatively big defenders and our "long ball" tactic and iii) it gave Barcelona complete control over the midfield despite our numbers because Sensi was lost in translation there as a false trequartista.

- Handanovic couldn't have stopped either goal, both were master class strikers by Luis Suarez who could advantage the minor space we left for him in both occasions.

- Brozovic was the worst player for us tonight. He was completely lost especially when Vidal came on for their most useless player which put extra pressure on us. We couldn't get the ball forward whereas in the first half we could have walked there in the presence of mighty Sergio Busquets.

- Felt like Skriniar had a bad night, along with Asamoah who had a mixed night with some good stuff and some bad stuff. With better wing backs I think that we could have given Barcelona a run for their money tonight.

- We really need a midfield leader. Brozovic is not one and cannot become one. Sensi is a talented young fellow but he's no leader. And Barella has all the right characteristics to become an important perennial asset, but he's no leader. He's not the type of player who will elevate the team's level, create a killer chance out of nowhere or have the capacity to score goals like a forward. We need that guy if we want to capitalize on any chances we get against teams like Barcelona.

- Learning the hard way tends to be the best way. Conte could have had the biggest result of his managerial career tonight but among other things, luck wasn't on our side. Hopefully we kick this defeat out with a much anticipated derby win.
