Just got back from the stadium, and things are looking good. Most of the players are here, and the rest are expected to arrive tomorrow.

Of course the players seemed tired, coming back from the holidays and jumping from the plane to the pitch. They also seemed to be cold, as nobody expected this kind of weather over here.

The training consisted of jogging, just to shake off the laziness I guess. And the players got a ball afterwards and split into two teams to provide some entertainment to the fans.

There was a press conference afterwards, but nothing really important came up. It's worth noting that Mancini confirmed twice that Figo is "staying" as he put it, and of course Figo was there training with the rest of the players. He also mentioned that it's too early to speculate about any transfers, when asked about whether Beckham was joining Inter.

The match is going ahead as scheduled on the 6th. Bahrain will play a selection of 11 players, and might have some guest players form other national teams since this is a celebratory game. Inter will probably play two different sets of players each half, as Mancini said he wants to give a chance for everyone to play, since this is a training game for Inter.

I'll start posting shots of the players in training tomorrow, exclusively for this forum. For now, here are a couple of shots from the press conference. That's nerazzurri813 in the first pic, who was lucky enough to get a shot with Mancio before the organizers pulled him away . I just got in with Scrapini who was much less guarded (and surprised that someone recognized him).

Lucky bastards ! I envy you guys to no end. Anyway, have a blast !

If you get a chance to chat with any of the players, tell them how popular Inter are in the Arab region and all over the world. Not that they're not aware or anything, but it's something nice to say nonetheless.

Here are today's pictures.

What the pictures don't tell you:
  • Everyone likes to make fun of Vieira
  • Matrix is an excellent goalkeeper!
  • Ibra doesn't care if you're on his team and in training, you'll still get shoved aside.
  • The players are bored of photographers :(
  • Inter is not run like an army--more like a school class at recess.
  • Adriano still can't score  (but all the players cheer when he does anything right!)

It will be shown live on Bahrain Sports (Arabsat), and on the Inter Channel (but not sure if it's live). No other channels or online streaming, unfortunately.

How big is the stadium??

Hi guys,

I was suppose to post much earlier and report everything for you guys since the whole Inter team is just 15 minutes away from my home, but it seems the excitement got the better of me

Anyway, most of the players arrived in Bahrain on Tuesday, January the 2nd and four Argentine players joined them yesterday (Burdisso, Cruz, Samuel & Mariano). The team did its first training session immediately after arriving at 9 p.m. local time (6 p.m. GMT). The training was followed by a press conference in which Mancini denied Figo's departure to any other team. In that press conference I managed to sneak and took a shot with the coach and senior Scarpini

The first training session was open to the fans and many fans managed to get to the players and took some pics and autographs except us!!!

The organizers refuse to let us speak to the players or take any photos with them, but we'll do our best to change that.

Anyhow, the good thing is that we are just meters away from the players since we are on the pitch with them!!! Being so close to your favourite team!! I've never imagined that!!!

The team did two training sessions yesterday and both sessions were closed and no one from the fans was allowed to attend. My friend and colleague Ehsan has already gave his comments about the team and I will add mine:
• Mancini has an open approach to the players, he doesn't yell at them at all. In other words, he's by no means a disciplinarian.
• The players really enjoy training, everyone is happy!! They also make jokes of some of the seniors like poor Vieira!!
• Ibrahimovic and Figo are class acts!! seeing them from so close is so joyable!!!
• Adriano can't dribble, can't shoot and can't score!!!
• Figo is a role model for the rest; you can sense easily that the team feels comfortable when he's around.
• I agree with Ehsan, Matrix makes a good goalkeeper
• Julio Cesar can juggle the ball more than others

Maybe I missed few other details but I'll try to keep you people posted on any other things to come. Today Inter will only have one training session at 5 p.m. local time (2 p.m. GMT) and we will be there

Today's training will also be closed to the fans and it will be followed by a press conference, so we will update you people with any new things.

Yea before I forget, the stadium capacity is 35,000.
