Well we knew from the start that the team doesn’t have good depth in the attacking department, grandpa Sanchez and ‘literally who’ arnautovic , what a disgrace , suning should be ashamed of themselves, Inzaghi overdelivered with a gimped squad. But in Europe it’s another level, you can’t cheat your way into the final with a low budget all the time

I'm getting flashbacks but honestly didn't even flinch at our takes. Was expecting those two to score and would be pleasantly surprised if the other three had scored.
Lautaro with all the pressure on the last PK was a mistake, should have gone 2nd after Hakan's hit so that he wouldn't have extra pressure.

Sommer did okay, but they had 2 unstoppable hits out of 4.

Sanchez should have been 5th so switch them with Lautaro and we're probably still watching PKs getting taken. For some reason he's far better when the ball feels heavier.

Fucking Sommer taking the penalty would've been better than these clowns.

It was written ffs. Soooo fucking many chances wasted over these 2 legs.

We bring on Sanchez, they bring on Depay.

Inzaghi totally shadowed by Simeone. Had no doubt that Inter is gonna lose the penalties and knew exactly who are gonna score and who not. I guess all of us did. I'm not blaming Lautaro too much. He set up Thuram and Barella for one-on-one's and started the move that resulted in the goal. Pavard, Mkhitaryan, Thuram were horrible. Mkhi managed to fuck up so many good attacks by complacent passes, Pavard was extremely nervous and Thuram was just complete shit all over.

Anyway, biggest blame goes to Inzaghi. If you go to a game to just defend for 90 mins, you're most likely gonna lose.
Would've liked to see Buchanan against very tired legs of Tico. Only ones contributing from the bench were Bisseck and Sanchez.

What an anticlimactic end to the season. Serie A done, Cup done and now CL done.

Again proves you need money, for without you won’t have the bench that will determine the outcome.

I said this so many time we don’t have the team to play on two fronts

We lost the match the moment Thuram missed that chance. He could have at least hit the target!
Lautaro didn't have a scoring chance, but he was good, except for that penalty. Fucking embarassing! He should work a lot on that.
Our players were nervous, that's why they did so many mistakes and strange passes that lead to nowhere.
Inzaghi chose to be a coward and changed his usual game, brought up some stupid changes, and there wasn't the desire to win.
We still have a lot to learn and we need a bigger depth.
Now let's focus on not losing the scudetto, because hey, this is Inter, we could make such dumbass move i fear.

This was the end of our season. Rest will be a snooze fest since we already won serie A.

Unfortunately the truth hurts. We still haven’t taken a big scalp in CL since 2011. We are lovable losers in this competition whenever we face another big team. Liverpool, City, Atletico. That’s 3 years in a row where we go out as soon as we have a big test. The first two years I’ll admit we were underdogs but we had every reason to go through this year.

The lights were too bright tonight for quite a few players in this team. Others looked way off the level required for this type of match. This squad is still lacking top quality/depth in quite a few positions.

Don’t be surprised if this has a knock on effect in the league. Luckily there isn’t really another competent threat or I could easily see us making a race out of it again. This team mentally still has weird moments.

And how the fuck did Klaasen end up taking a PK? The guy has been a joke ever since he joined, never looked composed for a single minute. Odd transfer in the first place, but also his performance in the pitch was NEVER convincing. And he gets to shoot a PK in such decisive moment? What the fuck.
Why was he ahead of Frattesi, I'll never know.

It was literally Arnautovic that scored one of the two goals we had against Atletico.
Yes we're lacking in depth suqadwise but it was our first striker star that was not performing today. We need to face that as hard as it is to swallow.

Don't have one.
This was a perfect game for us to see where we stand in the grand scheme of things, and honestly I was moderately nervous during the game, but after they v scored the second goal I was like yeah we just ain't good enough.

We are a great squad in seria a terms that plays entertaining football, good side in cl terms, but some of these players are just not good enough for us to compete for cl trophy year in year out. And at the end of the day if you are playing a historic season, have one of the best stats in europe and in a crucial game put a performance like tonight against a team that lets face it isn't anything special, it just means this is your real level on the highest stage.

I guess the real bottom line is, bar the lucky draw, I don't think we can even expect more given the owners and the level of italian football in general.

Don't really understand these defensive subs. They are hardly ever effective. We mostly needed changes in midfield and forward, but our lack of depth tied Inzaghi's hands.

I completely agree not his fault, Thuram had to massive sitters and he just choked completely in this game, his absolute worst performance this season.

Again miki has been looking absolutely run down the last few games, I don’t think we can blame him too much, he has been overused and this is the consequence of that

Pavard had a complete disastrous performance and poor clearance led to their equaliser.

That said we just didn’t perform as a Team.

Out of all mistakes Inzaghi made today, puting Lautaro for last pen is the worst
