Exactly, possession play needs width. I think a 4-4-2 or 4-2-2-2 could fit our players pretty well, and leave out Medel whose offensive contribution is near zero.

You would think with such statistics medel is such a great player but in reality he the weaskest link in the midfield sure he can intercept but he doesn't know what to do with the ball (backward passes that slow the tempo when the opposite is required) He doesn't run into open space in the middle when he should do that look at how mario does it. Sure medel is a good player but its useless to play him in the midfield, he's a far better center back. He's very one dimensional.

After losing silly points against Cagliari and previous results, I am really worried about the atmosphere surrounding the club entering this game. Away to Atalanta has always been a tricky game for us and we risk falling further away from the top of the pack. What makes me even more worried is that we have a run of difficult games coming up soon with Milan, Napoli, Fiorentina and Lazio. Any points dropped over the next few games will ensure phenomenal pressure and further uncertainty.

I know De Boer needs time, and he has shown promise earlier on but when sides like Milan and Torino are getting good results, our champions league dream gets further and further away.

We don't have a leader in this team, its why we are always tense entering every match. Its like they don't believe in themselves but every match after they score they become more confident, it means we aren't adequately prepared but i don't think its from the coach because there is only so much he can do about that, this comes from them as a group remember last year the juventus match in the cup when mancini locked the room and let them dicuss it, look how they emerged. Deboer is dutch from what I understand they are more direct in their approach that is why he might seem robotic and emotionless during matches ,if I am wrong I apologize to dutch people. Before we had zanetti, cambiasso julio cesar samuel and materazzi (I can't name them all) was their to pump them. Now look at us even the players seem like they want to hit each other after missing a chance. Juventus have buffon, bonucci and we have icardi ROFL. Leadership is calm and it comes naturally, look at zanetti whenever their is a conflict with his presence the players automatically look up to him not to forget his humbleness and charcter. Miranda or handanovic should captain and I like handanovic because he tells it as it is and at the same he can see the whole field, he perfectly described how our slow transition and lack of movement when we lose the ball at the last match and when he said the management should be blamed for our preseason woes.
