This is why I wondered about the signing of Eriksen for he can't fit well in this.

like i posted earlier, and a few times in the recent weeks, i think it just depends on the game

for games where we expect to dominate possession and have a weaker side sit back against us, Eriksen makes a lot of sense for creativity and finding spaces. For sides where we expect to get dominated (like we have done in recent seasons with Atalanta), it makes sense to not have 3 purely attacking focused players.

It's all about balance, tbh. Gags is doing exactly what we'd expect, which is to disrupt their play. His loose passes piss me off. Barella is still getting somewhat involved in disruption as well.
