Zabaleta Garay Demichelis/Campagnaro LB

Is not that bad and also it will be protected by Msacha and Enzo so it's solid. They need CMs to ease transition from defense to attack.

Thing is though, i don't think they don't play like that. I beleive Federico Fernandez often plays (?) who Ive always thought of as a complete tool. Always hated Demiceilis as well, and Campagnaro lost all his form.

Plus Enzo Perez wasn't quite a regular before, so.. Who knows if he'll play.

Yeah they don't. Just saying they have decent enough defenders.

Yeah shame about Enzo Perez, looks like this will be his last world cup, had a superb season but still won't get any chances for NT.

Btw, this defense is better than in 2010 when they played Jonas as RB

Like... If they just picked & played good players they could actually be real contenders

Aguero's wasted as wide-forward too. He is good even there, but he is central player, not someone who loves playing wide. I'd personally start Palacio instead of Higuain (or Lavezzi for that matter), just because i believe Kun can give his maximum as a CF, while the movement of Palacio (or the workrate from Lavezzi) can give him even more space to do what he is best at.

Why is Gago so much forced in Argentina is beyond me. Fernandez and Rojo are as mediocre as they come as well.

Is Higuain good enough to move player like Aguero to wide position? I don't think so.

Like you said Higuain should be a sub, Messi, Aguero, Lavezzi as front 3 and Di Maria playing exact role as in Madrid.

The really miss the midfielder who can connect defense and attack, someone like Banega. Not sure what role Messi plays, if they struggle to pass forward then we might see Messi dropping even deeper which isn't good for Argentina.

First post edited with the squad.

Anyway, with those players, personally i'd play:

Romero
Zabaleta - Demichelis - Garay - Rojo
Perez - Mascherano - Di María
Messi - Aguero - Palacio

Demichelis is mediocre, but at least he is experienced and SHOULD be more confident than Fernandez or some of the other shits. I was also considering Mascherano as a CB, but then there won't be the DM to cover the defense. It might happen, him as CB with Biglia/Gago in the midfield. Biglia is the profile of player you guys mentioned, too bad he is mediocre.

I haven't seen Basanta, so i don't know what kind of player he is.

Palacio in the attack because his off the ball movement. He is practically one of the smartest players in that Argentina team. His movement can be HUGE for Messi and especially Aguero.

Same, but with Orion instead of Romero in goals, and Camp instead of demiceilis. He isnt a CB and is in shit form as established, but Demiceilis is just an accident waiting to happen.

Or alternatively

Camp Garay Rojo Zabaleta

Would be nice to see Palacio starting but Higuain will probably start I guess.

Higuain will start on his name alone, however if he plays poorly Palacio should be first off the bench with the potential to keep him there.

Palacio will still get to play imo. Campa is 50-50, and Ricky won't.

Whoever mentioned Higuain's penalties... you still need to score penalties, when you get them. Tell that to Milito and Alvarez.

We all expected Palacio to be one of the better scorers, we were yet to see Higuain. I think he did good for his first season.

As for Higuain, it depends who comes out to play, the Genius Higuain or the Invisible one.

It seems almost like impossible for Inter's italians to get to Italy national team (for example Cassano was out of the team exactly the period he was at Inter and Paletta :yao2: preferred over Rano). But in Argentina national team every half decent players get the call and on top of that even Ricky. :awyeah:

Paletta has had a good season, not ridiculous to have him picked over Ranocchia.

Palacio is definitely over Lavezzi in Sabella's eyes, but not over Higuain. Rodrigo will be the first off the bench though.

I don't know about that I haven't followed Paletta that closely this season but I quess you have? I watched the training game against Ireland and IMO he was pretty lost in that game. He did nothing that convinced myself to think he is better than Rano.

Ranocchia played in 26 matches this season and was pretty decent in spring.

At the same time Paletta played 23 matches at Parma.

What I am saying is that we all can agree that Ranocchia wasn't a first team player more like rotation player this season but Paletta played even less games.

Wouldn't say I've watched him closely, but I did watch a fair few random Parma games and I've seen him twice for Italy. Seems to be very strong.
