Yeah, this is his BIG problem. If everything is not perfect he just starts to moan how he doesn't have the right players. Coach needs to adapt to the given situation. If your current system and plan don't work in Europe, you change the system for Europe. You play this in Italy, you play that in Europe. Point is to get the most out of the players you have.

It’s so freaking obvious to even the simplest of football fans, but somehow it’s not clicking in his toupee head. As much as I can’t stand Capello, the washing down he gave Conte was such a delight. Made him come out of that post match interview looking like a blithering fool.

Inter manager Antonio Conte offered to step aside from his role as manager in a meeting with club management yesterday according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Libero.

Conte and the club management met yesterday to take stock of the situation at the club following their disappointing elimination from the UEFA Champions League and European football entirely on Wednesday night.

As per this report, Conte told the club he would step away from his position however from a purely economic point of view, freeing Conte would cost €40 million which added to the revenue missed out on due to their elimination, is a lot of money and Inter simply put cannot afford to sack him.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to add that for now Conte, who has 18 months left to run on his contract with the club, remains but it is not clear with what conviction.

Don’t believe it. He’s too arrogant to bow out like that. Can’t get the thumbnail bigger but that is a pretty shit stat.

He wants his 40 million Euros and he'll leave. Thats what you get when you hire rubentino to manage Inter. And awful results of course.

I personally don't buy into that story but it'd be fucking hilarious if he offered to step down knowing full well the club cant afford it lmao

Taking 40 million euros to step down isn't stepping down.

Whit wait what? So fucker destroyed our season as early as possible and now he is “offering” to be “sacked”? Is this even a thing in life? Who the fuck begs to get sacked this way? That’s basically like asking for 40m to do nothing. Not even a psychopath would think about doing such a thing, let alone assholes.

I believe he wouldnt mind getting sacked, but no why he is that asshole to beg for it officially from the management after literally getting full confidence from them. Is that even legal??? That’d be like the most cuntish thing ever to happen in football.

Another way is to have the ultras torment his ass from now until the end of the season while offering no protection at all until he cant take it anymore and resign. Not only that, we hire Spaletti back, let Conte sit aside, strip him of all his power while letting the ultra running him ragged. :troll:

All of his problems would completely vanish if he actually committed to playing Eriksen. Imagine if all you had to do to redeem yourself from disgrace and get support back on your side was to let your best player play.

He's actually begging to be sacked by the way he's coaching Inter and the way he's managing his interviews. But knowing full well it's damn costly for Inter to sack him he's just keep on rolling the way he does and call other people names for saying his team is not doing good.

I’m fully aware of that. But to beg for a sack directly from the management? Isnt that inappropriate/unprofessional? I think it’s a bullshit rumor. However, I’m fully aware he’s been begging to sacked when he made the mess after the Europa final. I think he felt he overachieved with this squad (which to his opinion isn’t enough) and he couldnt outperform himself this season. He’s been different since the beginning of the season, especially after the struggling start. Lack of passion and poor choices of words in the interviews. It’s clear.

To be honest I think he has mental problems.

Yeah it's probably a BS rumor, but what I'm saying is he's actually asking the same thing by the way he's coaching Inter and the way he handles interviews. There is not one single valid reason why Inter should finish last in such a poor CL group, or why he's making odd decisions in his team selection and his subs. Even an amateur coach knows that in a must win match you gotta push hard and make the right decisions in order to win that match. Conte does the exact opposite of that; so I got to come to the conclusion that he either does that on purpose, or he's just a poor manager failing to cope with the pressure, or just as you said has mental problems, like anger issues or something.

Yep. Following Inter is like being in an abusive relationship; while you keep getting abused you keep on going, hoping that one day the abuse stops. It doesn't, but yet you keep coming back for more.

Libero is trash and i don't believe a word from them but i wouldn't be surprised if the report is accurate. Conte was already begging to get fired in the press conference after EL final.

i agree with the "win the league then fuck off" concept, i disagree that his interview is a stain on the club. it's a stain on him.

he dodged the questions, he acted like a fool. it made him look bad as a person, because he avoided to acknowledge his responsibilities.

as bad as it was, it was just childish and petulant after all, so it's not something that immediately puts a stain on whoever is associated with him (like, for instance, closing a ref into a room à la moggi).

it looks bad for the club, too, but personally i would use the word "stain" if we accepted this sort of behaviour for longer than strictly necessary, because it would mean to implicitly approve it, or at least implicitly say that we are ok with it.

for the time being, we have to endure it, unless it progresses to the point where we have no choice but to immediately cut ties with him.

we have to use conte to win the league, which is his forte.

and then immediately sack him, because he's just unbearable and because winning Serie A would be his ceiling anyway, so we would need to change anyway to get to the next level (round of 16 of champions league, at least).

conte has to lose in this, too, because if he fails, in the future any club would think thrice before even considering hiring a coach with such a heavy baggage.

i also feel that marotta should make NOW the moves for the future. whoever he thinks is the best coach for 2021/2022's Inter, he should choose him now, and in january's transfer session he should keep a balance between the requests of the current coach and those of next season's coach.

if, let's say, our future coach puts eriksen at the center of his project, we shouldn't sell him.
