Great game by Candreva, even apart from the assist and the shot at the crossbar. Almost all our attacks went through him, he ran up and down that wing, even won a few balls. This is what I meant earlier this summer, I want to see how Spalletti uses Candreva. So far, he is improving and cutting in more - last two games he has been brilliant. I hope he continues on this right track, and make his haters here eat their words.

He had an easy matchup (Borini) and probably carrying a bit of confidence from the goal for Italy. His best game in a while.

Candreva was up against Rodriguez, Perisic had an "easy matchup" against Borini. Though I wouldn't call it easy, Borini has been Milan's best player over the last 2 games. He has kind of transformed from a shit wide-striker into a quality attacking wingback.

I mean, he has 100% been the most frustrating, and sometimes entirely shit, player this season in my opinion. That said he was incredible tonight for all the 70 odd minutes he played. That ball to Icardi and the shot which had Donnarumma flying were fantastic, and as many are saying if it hadn't been for Icardi's hat-trick he'd be my MOTM no question. If he did this every week, I'd be ecstatic to sing his praises every week. Brilliant tonight though :datass:

we're not lovers ffs. we're realistic, we criticise when he plays poorly and praise when he plays well. we're also aware this team has higher priorities than a candreva replacement. But what I liked about him last night especially was he left it all on the pitch, and that sets a great example to his team mates. He gave everything he had, and when vecino nearly scored it was amazing skill from his part.

Candreva is better when he is more directed towards the goal...rather just sending his high crosses,he is most effective on the counter with open spriniting space than against set defences tbh....as is Perisic...
When we are facing a bunker...I think Cancelo and Karamoh could be more useful with their better technical skills...getting past players and making spaces

When you think about it, his first two crosses went to the stands last night. I'll give praise where it's due, he did play great last night. Let's hope he can do it at least couple more times this season, otherwise I would rather play Karamoh.
