Milan are battling Napoli for Lazio midfielder Antonio Candreva, according to reports.

The Italian international has asked to leave the Biancocelesti this summer, but they won’t let him leave on the cheap.

Inter have pulled-out of the race after being put-off by the €25m asking price, leaving the Partenopei in pole position.

However, the deal appears to have stalled in recent days, potentially over a wage dispute, and Il Messaggero reports that Milan are looking to take advantage.

According to the newspaper, Rossoneri CEO Adriano Galliani has spoken to Aquile President Claudio Lotito, with the Diavolo willing to pay €25m.

Relations between the two clubs are good following Alessandro Matri’s free loan last season, but Finevest and the Chinese consortium which is looking to take over would have to approve the transfer.

Perhaps INTER are relaxed and waiting for the outcome, not rubbishly overbidding. Summer is long.

Napoli offered a low wage and want 100% image rights, so Candreva will probably reject. He knows Mancini is waiting for him.

Meanwhile INTER launch all these 'smokescreen bids' in the media: Lamela / Pjaca / Bernardeschi to force Lotito's hands and accept a lower offer from us.

25m is too much, but I'd pay 20m for him as I really see him fitting our team.

Imho this whole saga goes to show how little the media actually knows. I mean According to them Candreva to Inter,Chelsea and Napoli were all dont deals at one point during the summer and now he s supposedly and Inter player again?

They are not saying he is an Inter player. That would mean it's in inter.it. You gotta learn to read those rumors. Things change all the time so as long as it's not in inter.it, deal can change.

There is always two deals, a deal between clubs and a deal between player and club. They can announce that "e fatta" but it could mean that clubs have the agreement or club and player have agreement. It just doesn't mean much.
