Ive said it before every dortmund player is individually overrated because once they leave the system they significantly drop in quality. Reus for example made his name elsewhere, so hes an exception. Gotze is decent too.

What people perceive as individual quality is just the result of Klopps great work of highlighting everyones qualities and covering for their weaknesses using other players.

Our plan is everyones on their own. Thats why Mazzari, except strikers, likes players that are ok at everything, excellent and horrible at nothing.

Both their cbs are quite overrated, especially hummels. Decent defender but everyone saw when 2 players like Cassano and Balotelli run circles around him, that hes not as great as people hype him out to be.

If rano goes there hell still have brainfarts but hell improv much better, because klopp will actually compensate for his lack of pace with ithe players or in different ways.

I don't want the only Italian player who starts a game to leave honestly.. He's a very good defender, and I don't think he can be replaced. We have good strikers.. Palacio is amazing, and I wish Icardi would play more.. In my opinion, we don't need strikers..

We pretty much replaced Rano this season with Rolando. Given the level that Rano's shown, finding a replacement shouldn't be as difficult as you guys are making it out to be. Then again, with our mercato team you never know...

With time, not just Ranocchia, but all the players on the squad can become world class players. It's a problem in our club. We don't give our players enough time to bloom. And don't forget, Mazzarri is a genius. He gets the best out of players. We just need to be patient.

Really long-time lurker, but finally got the cojones to sign up after reading the recent developments in this thread.

Granted Frog hasn't been having a stellar year, but he has showed promise - and that's undeniable. Does that justify his transfer fee? As of now, probably not. However, who could we adequately replace him within our budget? If we ever return to a back four, I am confident that he will succeed.

It is interesting that Klopp likes him. For all of you who hate on his lack of speed/mobility, Subotic and Hummels aren't going to set any records soon in the 100m dash anytime soon, yet they get it done.

The bigger problem than his pace is that he always looks nervous and uncertain when doing anything. He's not some fresh 20-year-old, but he still looks like the nervous kid we first bought.

Rano's actually played the best when we've used a back 3.

And I doubt Klopp actually wants Rano...probably just media stirring shit again.

Hummles is not fast, but is better in pretty much eveything than Rano.

Subotic on the other hand.... Except physical strength, is worse in everything.

I think you are underrating Subotic/overrating Ranocchia here. He would struggle at Dortmund with their pressing tactics.

I can admit that i am not watching Bundesliga much, but i've watched every Dortmund derby, and he performed like shit in every single one. He is also shit for his NT, has more brainfarts than rano, that's certain. If anyone is mediocre in Dortmund starting 11 it's him.

I believe all of our CBs are better than him. And no, not because they play at Inter, i said the same last year for other players, not Inter related, that i'd pick over him any day of the week.

To an extent what you're saying here is true; hence why Perisic looked half decent at Dortmund, Barzagli has been doing well with Juve (while being terribly inconsistent at Wolfsburg) etc

But you can't deny Dortmund have some excellent players on their hands. Hummels, Gotze, Reus, and Lewandowski are all top class players. Gundogan is very good, but he's just not at the level of the aforementioned

It's impossible to reach the final of the CL without an excellent squad; they SMASHED Mourinho's Madrid, and it's idiotic to put all the credit on Klopp's shoulders

There's one thing, however, that particularly irritated me in your post: Gotze only being decent

He's possibly the most talented player of his generation, and I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a great one day

Imho Hummels sucks since the won over Netherlands in 2012, since then he seems like out of touch from reality, for example in the Cl Finale he was by far the worst player on the pitch. But due to his reputation, Rano would have no chance to play at Dortmund. For me Subotic is the better one

I agree his form has fallen, but it's not like any of our CBs are in great form either. He's also very composed on the ball – I don't think any of ours are.

Gotze and Reus are the exception. But Lewandowski is the most overrated player in the world today. The guy up until now has only scored 2 competitive goals with Poland that weren't San Marino. 2!!!! He's nothing w/out a Klopp or Guardiola behind him. And yes you can make CL final without an excellent squad. Is that an unwritten rule? Bvb were on the verge of being eliminated by Malaga don't forget and went through last few seconds. Anything can happen over 2 games. And they lost the second leg... I'm mainly talking about the Kagawas, Sahins, Barrios.

There is no way of proving how overrated these players are if they don't play somewhere else but to look at their performances with NT. With Lewandowski, Hummels, Subotic, being among the many.

Klopp imo is the best coach today, even better than Mourinho. If it's anyone that can make the best of Rano it's him.

Klopp knows good players when he sees them. If anyone can get the best out of Rano, its him. Up next is Kova, if he has any sense he'd be looking for the exit. This isn't a serious club, which has me so puzzled about Botta obviously someone lied to him that this is a club on the up, in any case, we have to accept we are just another feeder club, another Livorno. I expect Cuchu to be playing for the next 3 years as our best player.

The potential is still there and Rano hasn't been so bad after all. Who has been at so great at Inter during the time Rano has been in this club? Yep not so many players. Also he is still pretty young for defender

So I am willingly to lose the whole transfer sum that we paid for him rather than get now 7 million back.

But Mazzarri needs to play him regurarly.
