I really hope the reason not signing him is that we will get another two way midfielder, better one. Because if we not, we lose decent player for cheap, and will be left with no depth nor quality in the midfield.

Yeah. We need to get a new midfielder, one who could take a starting spot soon if not right from the start. Poli would have been a cheap option indeed, not perhaps starting material but good rotation player nevertheless. Exactly what you would hope to get for price he was available for us.

More than anything, I'd really like to here from Branca/Moratti what was/were real the reason(s) for not redeeming Poli at the first place.

I was almost guaranteed he will remain here at the end of last season, but somehow 5 or 6 millions couldn't be paid...

Remind me, how many games were missing for the deal to become permanent?

He had to play 15 games with 45+ minutes in it.

bismilah, insyaallah... mehh..with all due respect....financial reason?....I didn't believe it......we willing to spend money for lucas, a big chunks of money for him...and yet we don't want to spend a little bit more for poli...it's seems that strama really wanted him but the management wasn't too convinced with poli.....therefore they didn't want to spend more for andrea....

I really disappointed with this decision....still... he maybe a decent player, but he has the potential to become a good player in the future....
with more serie a experience under his belt, this guy insyaallah...will be getting better and better.....
I really hope that inter were aiming for player that better from andrea....not some overrated and overpriced guy from far far away....

it's pointless to have many decent and good prospect from our academy, if inter or the management don't have the patience to nurture them.....

thanks..alhamdulilah

And Poli is called for Azzurri friendly. :palm:

When italian players leave Inter they become azzurri players and when they sign for Inter, well for example Ranocchia.

IMO this is a serious problem.

Ranocchia lost his place in national squad because he was totally out of form, while Barzagli, Chiellini nad Bonucci had great season, the same goes for Pazzini...

As for Poli, he is called up for friendly with England...there are a lot of new players called up...i doubt he will be in the national squad, when qualifications for WC start...De Rossi, Montolivo, Motta, Pirlo, Marchisio, Nocerino, etc. are Prandelli's first choice...

No need to panic :)

Look at the roster Prandelli called for the England game. Verratti, Destro, Ogbonna, Sirigu, El-Sha: it's purely experimental which is why Poli was included.

This "Italian NT has a vendetta for Inter" is ridiculous.

Yeah I know it just experimental. But still.

Who was the last Inter player that was included in azzurri squad and stayed there let's say for example over one year?

We havent had those too many.

And how Prandelli even could call Inter players when we have only 3 of them Rano, Pazzini and Poli(had). Next season we will probably only have one, Rano. Italian players just dont seem to be succesful and long lasting at Inter.

What's so special about this guy? I've seen a couple of games with him last season, and I was not impressed by any means. He is just a midfielder with slightly more than average passing ability. I know that our midfield is THAT bad and slow that Poli might look like new Pirlo, but I dont have any big hopes for Poli to become world-class.

He's young and Italian. Popularity is always higher because of it...

But in seriousness I trust Inter's judgement not to purchase him. There must of been a critical reason why... It would of been easy for them to close the deal as it was part of our loan aggreement which came with a right to purchase. Regardless of his comments, do you think maybe it was Strama who didn't want him? It's possible...

Poli to Rube... Huh? WTF?

We should give Rube money to take Branca also :palm:

You know the sad part about this. Poli will come back to burn Inter. Especially since he is a winger and decent defender in Rubentus's offense he will fit right in. This will be a nightmare like how Eto'o became a nightmare for Barcelona when they had to face him after letting him go for Ibra.
