I actually don't buy it that management is doing these selections. I believe more in the theory they just sell the player who they can sell at this point ie. player who is getting offers and specifically big enough offers.

My theory is we've told the agents of the players to look for new clubs and agents might have told if their client is absolutely not going to move. I can see Bastoni being more interested moving out of Inter than Skriniar, Barella and Lautaro who all have kids. And this is not a dig at Bastoni, not at all. This is just empathy towards the players, Bastoni might have less restrictions to move than those other 3. He had offers from EPL last summer too.

I think it will be very hard to replace Bastoni's impact, very hard to say if Barella is harder to replace than him. Lautaro is surely super hard to replace, forwards at his tier cost a ton.

Bastoni also has a kid.

It really saddens me that we are even thinking about selling this guy. He's an absolute gem, really rare kind of a defender. I can see him becoming one of, if not the best, defenders in the world. He is also Italian, so if we don't force him out, he wil probably play here for another 12 years...

I would hate to see him go since he's a unicorn as far defenders go, but no player in this current Inter is off limits for other clubs. Just depends on the money we get for them.
