No defender in the game can consistently deliver what Bastoni does, and expecting him to not once in a while be off his game is the stuff of video games.

Expecting world class players to be on top for 90 minutes every game is laughable. Same problem I see here with people going on about Barella being inconsistent. If the best players would deliver their very best in every situation top teams would win 10-0 every game.

Yeah, he is being tested more often but he's not adjusting his play to help alleviate the situation, plus he's not very quick either. One way that may work, is reducing one of his strengths, going forward, and make him play a little farther back.
