Yeah.....idk why people hate on Rano, I'd rather keep him than buy another kid who is gonna have to go through the growing pains.
Rano & Juan were fantastic last year, with the shittiest midfield in Serie A. I think if we upgrade our midfield we'll see improvement in our back line just because they won't have to be defending the entire god damn game.
No disrespect, but I wholeheartedly disagree.
I think they were both extremely unreliable, and error-prone to a very high degree. Juan in particular towards the end of the season - Ranocchia starting solid, but quickly reverted to the poor Ranocchia we were used to see a year prior.
They might show flashes, but bottom line I thought they were bad most of the times, alright in some, and absolutely abysmal in the other. Wouldn't call neither one fantastic by any stretch personally.
Now, the defensive midfield or lack thereof affected those performances and made it worst - sure - but that does not take them off the hook for being so unreliable and error-prone, and while showing flashes at times, being a complete liability in the other. That's not what you want from your CB, imo.
The best thing we're doing this summer is recognizing that we need a stabilizing figure in our defense.
Wally would be great but his age betrays him and he's just too old - but guys in the mold of Campagnaro and Danilo are ones who need to set the tone for our defense, and then we can bring in someone like Juan or Ranocchia to tag along - but neither of those 2 are capable of leading our line, imo, atleast not right now.
About Dragovic, I remember seeing him in the Europa Leauge but I haven't really paid too much attention to really talk about his game with confidence, so I'm totally in the dark regarding what to expect.
