5-1 wasn't a result that reflected the game as a whole. We were far more dominant when we won 3-0 at Highbury than when Arsenal beat us 5-1. Three of their goals came in the last five minutes, the last two after we'd given up.

surprise surprise, hector cuper was in charge at highbury

and what happened after zaccheroni took over? shit hit the proverbial fan and the entire room needed a renovation

both managers were absolute crap, absolutely no balance whatsoever

Agreed with Z. He definitely played more adventurously then Cuper. Zac's spell with Inter is one to be forgotten. There were some wonderful things like doing the double over Juve but that's probably it. Knocked out of the Coppa Italia by Juve, the 2-0 to 3-2 Derby loss and we were pushed by freaking Parma till the last day of the season.

He was just a temporary solution before Mancini is hired, so I was not really disappointed as I didn't expect much of him anyway. But, the only good thing about Zac is that he is an Interista. He has always admitted that in the past, even before he joined Inter.

so despite the great difference in game level between Egypt and Italy, will he be a good coach outside Europe?

Well, according to reports, he is just joining Zamalek, the second biggest club in Egypt and one of thje biggest in Africa and the Arab world, with around 20 million Egyptian fans alone and ust coming back to trophies after a 4 year drought.

It will be a very tough job for him

Zamalik should have brought in someone who knows the league and the players IMHO...But you never know sometimes an outsider sees things differently.

That said i still hold that he wont do well..Karim,you can sleep comfortably :)

The one coach that really seems to be able to match Manuel Jose's technical abilities and Zamalek is in advanced negotiations, thanks Ziyad but still a bit anxious

I definitely can't predict anything when it comes to Zamalek's appointment of him but Zac is not among the best of Italian coaches. As far as I can remember, his only significant achievements were finishing 3rd with Udinese in 97/98 and winning the Scudetto with Milan in the next season.

Well, he landed in Egypt to finalize the deal with zamalek and 200 from Zamalek's fan club plus a few ultras were in the airport to greet him

He said that he didn't expect anything of this sort of fan appreciation and he is thankful for the Zamalek fans and stressed that he wants to take the club to glory if indeed the negotiations end well

lol good observation, Kristian!

Karim, you support Al Ahly, right? So Zamalek is your rival? What's your own perspective on this appointment?

Well, at least now I think Zamalek is satrting to use their heads and that is starting to frighten me because that means they truely could be a potent opposition next season

They released all of their old guard who have the been the last of the generation that last won the league 4 years ago and had been the faces of Zamalek, BEshir El Tabi, Tarek El Sayed, Tamer Abd El Hamid, all released and now young Egyptian potent defender Amir Azy Megahed has returned and signed with Zamalek, and they are close to signing Agogo, the Ghana NT forward, Zach, a respectable European coach who for once will be a true match to Jose, Jefforey, a potent African DM from Wefaq Stef of Algeria is coming and with that Zamalek's main touble was the DM and that would be solved, dont know, I am starting to get worried but....

Ahly bought Ahmed Hassan, Egyptian NT captain from Anderlacht, Hussien Yasser, a silky fast Qatari-Egyptian, a new Palestinian-Egy[tian keeper, Ahmed Hassan, a local forward and a Zlatan-style forward in the name of Hany El Egezy who was actually a Zamalek primavera, Wael Gomaa has returned from his Qatari loan spell, Sayed Mowaad, NT left back and now Hosny Abd Rabu might just come to Ahly, so this season could be a firey one :D

Zach left after he inspected and was impressed by the club, the only thing that divids Zamalek and Zach's signature is Zach's insistance on getting his Italian assistant with a 60 million euro salary, something that Zamalek wants to be lowered
