Inter has made a brilliant move by extending second keeper Fontana's contract with one more season.

Fontana has always done a great job when being called upon, and is a very important person for the squad in terms of harmony.

So this is great news.

Let`s just hope Toldo doesn`t get injured or suspended :D

Well, if he does, we have one of the best second keepers in the world. Fontana is amazing each time he plays.

This is ok news but it doesnt take away from the fact that we need a top young talent for the goalie position since both Toldo and Fontana are getting old.So even if they stay for another season our eyes should be open and pens ready to sign for the future.

One word for Ziyad: Cordaz. ;)

Just a question, was Frey brought through the youth system or did we sign him and use him as a starter right away???

Well Han i really dont know what Cordaz is like on the pitch besides that pic of him under Toldo ;) (talk about being an understudy) But if he is to be our future number one we have to use him as a starter on several occassions this year.We cant just wait for the last minute for him to join the big time, lets do it the right way and integrate him slowly

True, like what we did on Martins. IMO, it makes more sense if we have a competition between Cordaz and Fontana for Toldo's back-up rather than getting a new keeper to compete with Toldone himself. I think Cordaz had tasted some Coppa Italia minutes last season. I hope that he will get more of those in the next one. ;)

Simply great news for Inter and "Jimmy". Fontana is a remarkable person and gives a lot to our team, even if he doesn't play that much.

Frey came from Cannes and was with us as a third keeper before being shipped off to Verona. Never a Primavera keeper.

And I think Moreau will be our third keeper for next season.

Its good that Fontana is staying though how the GK lineup will work after he leaves, I have no clue...

Perhaps Toldo will stay the starter and Cordaz will become the 2nd GK and Moreau the 3rd or competition between both Moreau and Cordaz?? Will be very interesting to see.

With all this in mind I doubt that we will still get Belardi but you never know.

Han, why do u always think highly of Cordaz and other young players that really will never shine..

For your info, cordaz can never be a proper goalkeeper.. I want him to leave Inter now..! Whats wrong with you guys,..?

Ive said it before that we need a high quality goalkeeper, not cordaz..!!!!!!
I would never want Cordaz to be our goalie, not even in cup matches..!

The league is getting stronger, and with capello now in juve what do u think will happen if we play against juve or milan with cordaz or fontana our goalie.! they will rape us for sure..!!

And plz dont mention the matche fontana played against juve in the cup or agianst lazio in the leagu, ok he was good but i had my hand on my heart at every attack, and i dont want to do this again..
Fontana is ok for a 3rd goal keeper, not second. and cordaz should leave..

Remember the 2nd match we had in the tim cup against regina, when cruz scored the goal in the last seconds of the game. Watch this match again and tell me what do u think of fontana.. !!!

Ok 3rd goalie, but not second.
Cordaz should leave.

If they are not given the chance, who are we to assume that they won't shine??? Martins was given the chance and he took it and he shines. A perfect example that youth product is sometimes, although rarely, better than brining players in. For example, Martins has been 10 times better than Cruz.

If we are to sign a new keeper, Cordaz won't have the chance too. It's not as if I wanted Cordaz to be the 2nd GK straight away. But, give him some minutes ala Martins and then make our judgment.

The same principle applies on why I truly madly deeply hate Veron's transfer. Sorry for going off-topic. :D

agree....
I don't think that we would need another goalkeeper....

I trust TOLDO and hope everyone thinks that way....

Toldo will remain with us, without a doubt... then why would we need another very good goalkeeper to compete toldo ??

Dida and Abbiati in Milan.....
Barca's two good gk's are two examples....

but i doubt other teams also have that kinda 2 good gks....

jimmy has done very well in the absence of toldo, and he deserves this !
and this is the only way to give chances to cordaz/moreau...

and unlike midfielders/strikers/defenders; goalkeepers don't need that much time to gel with the team .... if told does really bad this season... then get a world class keeper for next season.... which I doubt that toldo wud do that bad... it was just one bad season for him, not too bad either
;)

Well people, the youth is an amazing thing and actually i agree all the way in supporting them to play and get 1st team.
BUT there are some players who are not inter calibur..!
Dont think that all our youth players are inter calibur.. Players like Cordaz is not even serie A calibur, and actually he should go to serie B and play there, and then he might turn good and play for a normal team in Serie A but surely not Inter.

Keepers are different than players. Players might get their chances more and prove themselves, and also they can always improve to top quality.
For example look at Henry, he was a good winger but thats it. Now he is the best player in the world.
The same goes for Mathew Upson, he was a reject at arsenal, and they gave him away. Now he is one of the best central defenders in England.
Sylvestre was very bad with inter, look at him now..
there are many more examples..

Keepers on the other hand gets less chances with the team, and they must be really good to clinch it, and they must look superior even before they clinch it.

Look at Casillas, when he was 18. Everyone knew he will be a massive hit..

Your problem Han, is that when it comes to inter, you just give all the players credit. You need to be objective and you must know that not all players at inter are worth playing for the club.
Also i can see from yous posts that any new guy who we say is good, like for example when i mentioned victor valdes, you said maybe he will turn to a one season wonder.
You always come out with the one season wonder comment.

There are players and keepers whom you are sure are not one season wonder, you shouldnt always assume that.
Anyways cordaz is not even up to the one season wonder quality.
i dont hate the player. i never hate inter players, but he is not good by "all means".

How have you managed to see Cordaz, in the first place? He came on against Juventus and he did it good, considering that it was his debut. And against Juve of all teams!

Don´t know what you base on when you say Fontana isn´t good enough to be a second keeper. Been absolutely brilliant each time he has played. What more can you ask from someone who plays about five games per season?
