I've seen a limited amount of Thuram but from what I have seen, I simply don't know what I'm supposed to be impressed by.

It's the exact same thing for Balogun. I've never seen more unimpressive goal compilations than either of these guys.

And yet we decided to give Thuram guy a €6m net salary. Yes, I know - he's a free agent - and with the growth decree his annual cost is quite low, only €9m or so. But he's literally the joint highest earner in our team alongside Calhanoglu ( ) and Lautaro.

The way I see it, we've put ourselves in this really precarious and uncomfortable position where Thuram is getting paid like a star, but isn't anywhere near good enough to repay that value on the pitch.
Let’s actually see him on the pitch first before we pass judgement on him. Also at his age it’s first now he really have to put in number…

If he then turn out to be nothing special, he can always be sold next summer. It’s more or less a free lunch, so don’t matter all that much with his high salary, as that should be easy enough to cover in a sale in 10 months time.

We've elevated his profile and the expectations on him with that enormous wage but personally, I don't see the skills in his game to match that expectation. That disparity is the definition of a flop right?

No you need to view him as low risk operation, if you had bought him straight out he would not have received this wage. This is partly a consequence of being a bosman. Such a transaction alone would have been 40m or so, now we get him for modest spending with 100% plusvalenza when he is eventually sold. 9m is incredible cheap for a player like him, it’s more then well worth it and it’s hardly even a risk as you easily sell him for that.
If he doesn't flop and instead, really blossoms as a player, I'll happily eat humble pie. If he does flop though, how are we going to shift this guy? Who the hell is going to take on his gargantuan salary? Realistically, we'd have to sell him at a lower fee (which would be "acceptable" as he came on a free) or pay part of his wages at his next team.

We're all in on this gamble. Like it or not, Thuram has to be the starter and we have to hope he does level up big time.
We can sell him for 10m and most club’s gladly pay the higher wage. Clubs look at the whole package not just the wage.

Thuram never really impressed me and I had no idea he got such huge salary.
In the friendlies he was far from impressive. Sure we can give him a few games to adapt but how many games are you willing to give to a guy earning that amount of cash ?

Sometimes, friendlies mean nothing. I would wait half a season to have a judgement. His passing good, he can do some headers. But I don't feel that hungry spark yet. who knows how he turns out down the road.

Watched Bundesliga on an off and especially Gladbach since their supporters are on friendly terms with a local team from my town so I am familiar with the guy. He is a really weird player. He is a tall mix of striker/winger with good pace. I have no idea how we will make him play. He is pretty shit at link up play, that is probably his weakest point. Gladbach tried to or just needed to transition him to a number 9 but he feels pretty awkward in that position.
It feels like a big hit or miss for me.

I don't like he picked number 9.

Thuram adds speed and run in behind the defence line dimension. I think we are lacking this quality because neither Toro, Dzeko, Lukaku and definitely Correa have this quality.
I think with our midfield that also likes to run in between the lines( Miki, Barella and Fratessi ) and our wingbacks this could be lethal to our opponents.
His finishing can be better but I think if inzaghi will manage him correctly he will be good for us.

by then Correa will already be injured, so we will probably need a 5th

By all means do it. Two seasons we've started with 4 forwards and both times got screwed by injuries to our forwards, got our healthy forwards overplayed and had to deal with their form and performance dropping.

Don't have one.

Fuckin hell, what is there to think about. I v been saying it for a year, as long as correa is here, you need a fifth one.

My only hope is they are stalling it to see if they can get rid of him all together, but I really hope we have someone like sanchez on standby in case he stays.

one of the major inter weakness, his inability to sell
correa right now acts like a parasite, sanchez coming back
after a golden handshake is just sad.

It’s hard selling a player no one wants

The reason Inter have issues selling is more down to said players failing, some of those reaching high age and/or high wage making any sort of sale almost impossible to achieve.

In other words your creating your own potential problem already when you sign them or extend their contract.

Signing Sanchez probably makes more sense now that we missed out on Samardzic. Obviously on paper they play different positions, but they’d bring somewhat similar second strikerish aspect to our squad.

In addition to starting games and replacing a striker as a sub, Sanchez could be useful to be subbed in for a midfielder when we are chasing a goal.

@FabrizioRomano to @SOSFanta: “For now, Inter aren't working on forwards, it seems clear to me that the intention is to invest in the defender and Pavard is the favourite. If something were to happen to Correa, I would keep an eye on Alexis Sanchez."

if our midfield stays as it is, we have less than half a player in Sensi. Thus our ultra injury prone player is the guy with attacking flair.

Of our strikers Arnautovic is 34 and injury prone, Correa is shit and injury prone. Thuram is a question mark and injury prone. I assure you, our squad needs that 24th player and Sanchez would fit the bill. I prefer player like him to out and out striker because Sanchez is more versatile as a sub.

Running 100 simulations of our next season would probably show very obvious need for Sanchez. If we keep the current squad, it’s like taking a risky gamble and odds are stacked against us.
