Don't have one.
Carlos Augusto being our main purchase in defence, I don't understand what is wrong with that, IM21?
What's wrong is that we are cl finalists, heavily in plus when it comes to sales, and we are operating in this mercato like a bottom half team using one player to cover for two positions. No to mention the embarrassing way in which payments are made, constantly bidding under the other club's desired price for their players under the disguise of some arbitrary value system that doesn't even make sense. You don't see problems in that, or you are just willing to positively rationalize everything inter mngm puts in front of you?

I know some of you will say it's the reality, and we have to accept it, but fuck that, I ain't accepting it. I accepted the selling before buying strategy, but this goes way beyond that. Us accepting that shit will be one step closer to accepting this club going midtable route, and I don't want to put myself in a position a few years from now to be like "I didn't mind how they did business back then, hell it even looked pragmatic, why would I minded now when we are midtable, so better not say shit coz I would look like a proper hypocrite".

We are still missing another side CB to be precise. We need three players to backup for Dimarco, Bastoni and Darmian. Only Bisseck and Augusto is not enough.

One can be versatile but he can't split himselves and total (rotation) minutes should not be burdened on two.

Did you see we lost two RCBs in the names of DDA and Skriniar?
Then? You have to look at current set up, Darmian - Bisseck for RCB, Acerbi - de Vrij for central CB, Bastoni - Dimarco - Augusto for LCB.

Sure it’s not ideal but that’s how the management rolling until at least winter.

And we replaced them with Darmian and Bisseck.
If you said at the start of mercato that we are going to replace both Skriniar and DDA with one unknown kid from danish league the fans were going to go nuts. Now close to the end of mercato we have to remind some fans about this craziness when they see nothing wrong. lol

I don't know why you (and some other inter fans) keep ignoring Darmian as a RCB?
He already proved that he is better than Skriniar on that position and it's quite normal, he to be the undisputed starter there.
In the same time Bisseck will be back up, so I don't get the whinnying about him? People were complaining when Marotta and Ausilio bring old players and crying for young. Now, they brought us a young one and you are still complaining?!
We are not in position to sign top prospects like Scalvini, Gvardiol and De Ligt anymore.

We lost two experienced RCBs and replaced him with one player we still don't know if he's Inter material or not. If you still don't get it then stop wasting both of our time, as I stop engaging in such stupid conversations.

One perk of this formation is that we can turn old school defensively sound fullbacks into elite LCB’s and RCB’s, just as we can turn old school wingers into good wingbacks. This can save us loads of money, among other things. Since such players are not very useful these days (pure line hogging wingers and defensive fullbacks), they can be had on the cheap.

People still cannot see Darmian as a real centreback. My theory is that if he had a name of a household centreback, people would be fine with him and a young promise Bisseck being our RCB’s.

How many times do people have to mention that Darmian effectively is a new RCB, since he changed from a wingback to that position and we have enough wingbacks now.

This is the risk of signing unproven players. Everyone is crying how Napoli always finds some cheap and good players, but nobody wants to take the risk with such a player. You deserve Tolois, Dzekos, Arnautivics but you will complain once again, aren't you?

Given that D'Ambrosio and Skriniar hardly played at the end of last season, I think we'll be fine. But in the paper yes we lack a side CB. Hope our defenders stay healthy at least to the winter mercato.
The positive side is Bisseck's going to have more chances to play.

Yep, wingbacks for defenders.
Wingers for fullbacks.
AMs for DMs.
Deadwood for strikers.

It's the Inter way. The flea mercato way.

Actually it's fair trade as Skriniar was never been good RCB. He is CB who was transferred to that position by Conte, so I don't see a problem a RB like Darmian to replace him if he fits well there.
In a perfect scenario (if Skrinar renewed) we could have Bastoni - Skrinar - Darmian, which is quite solid back three with Acerbi as a back up and SDV gone.

I was joking. I don't mind Darmian at RCB. I admit I'd love it if we could buy another defender, but all things considered, we obviously can't afford that currently.

@vex you also know that we are a club with huuuuuuge financial issues. A player like Carlos Augusto is a player I would want in any case, us being rich or not.

Yeah, it's depressing that we can't have one proper transfer window to address all problems, same happened after winning CL in 2010.

It's nothing new, really. Shoestring budgets and the transfer windows getting crazier by EPL and other rich clubs. But not being happy getting Carlos Augusto I will not understand.

Chill bro

edit. BUT, I agree with this that we are one defender short. Either side CB or wingback. If Augusto is used in both LCB and LWB as rotation option, it's not optimal at all. He gets to play a lot, but if he gets injured, we are FUCKED.
