If they sell Pavard they need to make sure they have the money to sign a proper replacement. Else they would rather keep him and lose him on a free next summer.

We have to remember the new FFP rules with 80% next year and 70% the following, also currently the payroll is already probably too big for this club.

If Oaktree take over from Zhang next summer we will get an owner with a very different view on salary, these companies are well known for their strict medicine in terms of slimming down on operational expenses and make things more efficient. On sports teams it means they will try reduce player salaries and introduce salary cap. I just don’t see Oaktree allowing 8-11m salary with the sort of poor annual results this club is putting out.

But the rat surely would’ve asked for hefty signing bonus though. And i think pavard is better than him as RCB.

Sign pavard, sell dumbfries, darmian/cuad as RWB.
Next year we sign CB, and augusto type player for RWB. and we would set for quite some time. (Aside from GK and Striker)

Bastoni can absolutely fill in at CB if needed. I actually think it's a position he'll naturally progress to later in his career.
