I think Fiorentina intends to make some noise in the next few years. Not sure if Commisso wants to sell the club on a profit or just make them important so that he enjoys the perks in the Italian political scene though.

Biraghi is out of their friendly lineup because they are considering an offer from Inter. Fiorentina director Giancarlo Antognoni confirms they “could not help but evaluate” an Inter offer for Cristiano Biraghi. Fiorentina director Daniele Pradè warns “Cristiano Biraghi wants Inter, but there are issues to be sorted out.” - I guess Dalbert rejected them, so we need to cash in.

SPAL full-back Mohamed Fares went under the knife today following the tear of his anterior cruciate ligament in the left knee. The 23-year-old sustained the injury during a friendly against Cesena on August 8. Fares is expected to be out of action for four to six months and had the operation in Bologna’s Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli. The Algeria international had 35 Serie A appearances last season, scoring three goals with one assist. Before the injury setback, he had been linked with transfers to Inter, Torino or Fiorentina.

Between Inter and Biraghi, there is an agreement in principle for a five-year deal worth €2M per season. Fiorentina are already looking for a replacement [Nagatomo].

Fantastic deal by Marotta yet again.

Not only we have acquired an experienced wingback, but we are actually weakening Fiorentina simultaneously with Nagatomo.

Way to go.

Even better, we are weakening Fiorentina by giving them Dalbert! :slick:

Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia are now claiming Dalbert has accepted an offer from Fiorentina.

He is set to exchange places with Biraghi, although both broadcasters stress their loan deals are only for the coming season, with no options to buy.

The pair will soon be free to complete their respective moves once the remaining details are ironed out.

» I don`t see why we would not want to put an option to buy on these loans. If we want Biraghi after 1 season, we should be able to take him for a pre-agreed fixed amount, instead of just raising his value and making him more expensive for us. I am expecting an option to buy from Marotta.

The only option left is that they agreed on a Dalbert - Biraghi swap in the summer if both clubs are satisfied with the performances, like a gentlemen agreement. Otherwise it woulde be indeed a strange transfer.

Yes, that might be the case. But why not stipulate it in written, given how Sporting Directors come & go? What if we want Biraghi but they don`t want Dalbert? There is no use for us, depending on Dalbert.

I kept thinking trying to find another explanation: perhaps Dalbert did not want to go into this kind of deal at this moment, seeing it as a step down. Given the increasing influence and willpower of the players, this might have been settled like this because there was no other way and we were running out of time. Nice also changed ownership these days!

Yupp, quoting myself to make a point. Great news just came in:

Inter will reportedly have a €12m option to buy Fiorentina left-back Cristiano Biraghi as he prepares to swap clubs with Dalbert.

The exchange of loans was agreed earlier today, and Gianluca Di Marzio’s website has since disclosed more details.

As per the transfer expert, Inter can keep Biraghi permanently for €12m next summer, whereas Dalbert’s move to Fiorentina is only a dry loan.

The Italy international is expected in Milan tomorrow evening ahead of a medical on Thursday.

His fellow left-back, on the other hand, was absent for a friendly at the Nerazzurri’s training ground on Tuesday and is therefore free to travel to Florence.
» Now that`s an option that I like, even better than expected! :datass: Upgrade for free, low transfer fee in case we want him, we avoid hurting Dalbert`s value by shipping him back to France AND gained 1 more year to find a buyer for him. Congrats Beppe.

If the €12m option is just that, then its a great move. But I suspect there will be a gentlemen agreement like in Politano's case for FFP purposes, and we will buy him next summer for €12m. Even then its not a bad move, we acquire a bench player who is club trained, for a low cost and with FFP compliance.

And maybe Dalbert will do some good for his valuation at Florence.

seriously - i think too often we forget that sending a player out on loan isn't as much of a dead end as it may seem. And atleast in terms of the calculus, better to loan a player out even without an obligation if he can feature and has a shot at succeeding in a different system than having him sit another year on the bench and devalue more.

So basically that means if it’s a dead end here, loan him out.

It's not a dead end in concept. When you have to loan ALL YOUR PLAYERS you don't want, then it is a dead end.

Yes, but then Milan will “steal him” from Inter.

Great masterplan from Marotta! Why pay Man Utd asking price when they are trying to milk us? Fuck them. Use Parma as a cover and rather give them a bonus for the wanted player. Only if he is needed.

Parma were able to sign Darmian for only €1.5m while his current market value is €10m. The player plays regularly until January, instead of eating bench over here AND we get the right analysis wether he`s still good enough for us or not. Everyone wins.
