Except you also have to factor into the equation that players like Leo, Xavi, Iniesta et al have all come through La Masia...There's a culture of not only how to play but how to play as a team from a very young age...If there's a criticism that can be levied against Pep, it's that he (Also a product of La Masia) has a tougher time managing players that are not from the Barca youth setup.

One can argue that apart from a few players (Keita, Abidal, Sylvinho, Yaya & Pinto), he has fared the worst with players outside of the youth setup (Samu, Ibra, Hleb, Caceres, etc.)

Well, he was actually...He was manager at Barca's B team, the place where he earned his managerial badges...It's where he found trust in players like Busquets, Pedrito!, Jeffren etc.


Luis Enrique is the current manager of the newly promoted Barca B squad and I imagine will soon be considered for a first division managerial position soon enough, as well

Inter Join Race For PSV Captain Ibrahim Afellay - Report

Italian champions Inter have joined the race for the services of PSV midfielder Ibrahim Afellay.

A report earlier on Tuesday suggested that Europa League holders Atletico Madrid were sitting in pole position to secure the services of PSV star Ibrahim Afellay, but the Spanish side face some serious competition in the race for Afellay's signature.

According to Tuttosport, reigning Italian and European champions Inter are keen to add the versatile midfielder to their squad as well and the Nerazzurri could make a move for Afellay in the January transfer window.

Inter had initially set their sights on Liverpool star Dirk Kuyt, but the Dutch international faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to an ankle injury. Therefore, Inter have turned their attention elsewhere and they've reportedly made Afellay their primary transfer target.

The 24-year-old has developed into the absolute star player at PSV in the past couple of seasons and has also impressed while wearing the jersey of Holland's national side. Afellay put in a man of the match performance in Oranje's 4-1 win against Sweden on Tuesday evening.

Afellay's current PSV deal is due to expire in the summer of 2011 and the Eindhoven side are supposedly keen on offloading their captain in January in order to prevent him from leaving the club on a free transfer.
