Mariga is on the rise without any stop since he started his football carear.

Cigarini got to a stop, and not without a reason.
He simply didn't fit in Mazzarini's system. You think Pazienza is better than Cigarini? Even Pirlo, Even Xavi Alonso wouldn't be guaranteed a place in Mazzarini's 3-5-2 hi-tempo system. It's simple, Mazzarini found a winning formula with Gargano and Pazienza. When you find a winning formula, you just don't fuck with it :)

The fact Fergusson was following him is no coincidence.
Err, Djemba Djemba anyone. The list is endless. Since when has Ferguson been good at spotting talent. Means fuck all to me that he rates Mariga. Absolutely. fuck. all.

The fact that cigarini's career has stalled while mariga has continued to make a steady rise really says it all concerning the two players.
Nope, not really, Samuel's career stalled at Real Madrid, Pirlo's at Inter, Bergkamp at Inter, Ronaldinho at Milan, Sneijder at Real Madrid... you get my point :shades:

There is a reason why mancini, ferguson and mourinho wanted mariga while cigarini continues to play at provincial clubs.
That;s how you rate players? You mean to tell me the only reason to chase after a player is when another big club is interested? You look at half our team, we're basically a bunch of rejects: Cambiasso, Sneijder, Motta (from Barca), Maicon was a nobody, Julio Cesar, Samuel a complete flop at Real, Lucio... Look, I don't mean to beat this to death, I just think Cigarini is worth a look for our bench. I don't like the idea of brining in an Italian player just to fill a quota but he is a very descent one, and we could really use a player of his sort when we need to move the ball around in midfield. Or do you assume we will score first in each and every game and then defend the lead by bringing on Mariga??

Not saying that Cigarini > Mariga but I'm with rfU in this so and so is a good player because so and so wants him.

That's honestly the most retarded justification you can use to rate a player.

Ok, then we'll wait like Stefan suggested, and we'll see where Cigarini is and where Mariga is in couple of years.

 like that's in any way fair. Should we automatically assume J. Pennant or Quresma are better players than Deisler simply because they had a longer, more successful footballing careers? More psychologically stable (not by much however) yes, but better than Deisler? But fuck it, I'll wait. I'm betting Mariga will never become a regular starter with Inter. If Cigarini remains in Italy, I'm betting he'll be a more successful player. Reason why he can't find a club in italy is because there isn't much money going around. No one is willing to spend 8-10 million right now. You think a player like Carmona is shit because he spent a season in serie b? Nah, he's better than Isla (Udinese) or Nocerino yet he's still plying his trade with Reggina. Again, money is an issue in Italy. Reason why Rosina is Russia. Not because he's shit or not as good Simone Pepe. But now he's lost his way in Russia. Shit happens. The quality is there however. Just like how current 11 had the quality but were written off far too early in their careers.

Cigarini is a very good passer of the ball though, you got to give him that. It's hard to say which of the 2 is better because they don't even play the same and we barely see them playing anyways.

I personally prefer Mariga to Cigarini. If we need a passing midfielder I advise Ever Banega. He is who I have wanted more so then Mascherano. Then we would have two passers and two DM's even though both cambiasso and mariga can get forward on occasion.

Funny thing is that Mariga and Cigarini would probably make quite a good pairing in midfield.

 Yep. Could've happened too if we hadn't relegated Parma back in the 06/07 season.

Cigarini was wanted by Inter at some point. And with him at Napoli, it is exactly like rFU has explained. He doesn't fit to their system at all, hence he doesn't have much chances to play. His career hasn't been uphill like it was hoped back then when he played for Parma. Napoli ask almost 10m€ for him which is clearly too much given what he has shown there. That's why his career is at stalling point at the moment.

But comparing Mariga to Cigarini is indeed pointless, since they are different kind of players. Comparing their careers is also pretty fruitless, at least at this point since their situations differs so much.

Go sign Schweinsteiger [50], Mascherano [20] and 1 winger [Alexis Sanchez/Mesut Özil or even freakin` Kuyt]. Done.

Schweini AND Mascherano would mean overcapacity. Schweini will remain a dream anyway.

why do we need Mascherano? I dont rly want Mascherano - Cambiasso. Bring some creative stuff already. Mario is leaving, so is Maicon, yet we havent signed anyone notable yet.

actually it doesnt make sense to sign mascherano if maicon is gone, THIS IS A BULLSHIT TRANSFER AND WE ARE GOING TO BE SCREWED NEXT YEAR, IAM REALLY MAD.
mascherano would be really useful covering maicon attack runs, without maicon it makes no sense.

we already have a replacement in santon....

schweini wud be ideal but i guess we are forgetting about a certain Hamsik who in IMO would break out if he signs for inter

If we sell both Maicon and Balotelli, I think there's no doubt we should buy one to play at back (preferably an offensive) and one to play at the wing. Branca and Big Ben also thinks we should get one do accompany Cambiasso. I'm not gonna dwell about that one, they (hopefully, and pretty sure) know what they do.

I don't think Santon can be the replacement of Maicon. Not that I not believe in Santon, but we have to have four people to cover the back role. With Santon, Zanetti and Chivu, we need one more. I also think Evra isn't a good alternative to get. Then I'm not thinking about his quality, but his age and price. I'm gonna give this task to the genius with the name Branca.

I might be one of the few that not will complain if Kuyt will be the one we buy at wing, as long as Liverpool keep his price below €10 million. If we get Kuyt, then everything says he will be a starter. He ain't one of those who can take the field the last ten minutes and decide the match. He doesn't have that X-factor. His strength is his capacity to run all game long.

But I'm gonna give this responsibility to Branca (surprise). And I'm really exited to find out who we end up with.

mascherano can play rb if needed, don't need to buy a LB or RB if it's not as good as evra, van der wiel or someone like this.

chivu lb, zanetti rb, santon covering both, and if zanetti and santon are injured then go with mascherano as rb and mariga on the mid. no problem.

Problem is, we might not get the necessary quality to match 09/10, which after all is our main target.

We don't know what level Santon is at, and maybe we don't get that offensive back which we're gonna need when our duo at midfield is Cambi and Masche. But then again, with a duo that good, it'll maybe be the moment Santon gets really good. He doesn't need to think that much about defending and that could perhaps be the thing that make Santon take the big, big step.
