What Kerlon guy ?
I mostly want him for comical purpose.
Cassano looked very fresh when he played against us. If it wasn't a fluke, he'd be a very interesting player. Cassano would also lessen our dependence on Ibra I imagine, because Cassano is more an Ibra kind of attacker than Cruz/Crespo.
Cruz, Ibra, Cassano, Suazo, Crespo/"new" Crespo would be a close to ideal attacking line-up for next year because we'd have so many different playing styles to choose from. But only if we buy a good AM.
Anyway, I don't know how Mancini sees Balotelli. Is he a new Ibra or a new Crespo? Or will we only continue with one poacher (Cruz, which would be smart if we don't plan on getting a good AM)? I have to say Cassano looked good (playing-wise) and it's no secret that Mancini likes him. That after-match convo looked a bit "suspicious" and Cassano will never pick Samp ahead of Inter if he had the choice.
So, I'm imagining two alternatives for next year's attacking line-up.
1. Ibra, Suazo, Cruz, Cassano, Crespo
2. Ibra, Suazo, Cruz, Cassano, Balotelli
Balotelli is not a poacher so for me alternative 2 is a must if we don't buy a high-class AM for creativity from midfield. Balotelli is more like Ibra than Crespo, which is the type of attacker we would need to focus on if we don't improve creativity in midfield. However, if we buy a creative AM, a second poacher would be a very good option.
It will be interesting to see how it goes and I don't even know if Mancini dares to bet on Balotelli this soon. Remember, Adriano was one of five strikers when this season started and I don't think Mancini had planned to use Mario as much as he has.
Any thoughts on this?
